A Message from the President
Dear Friends:
I have been working with children, adolescents, and families for over 30 years. After attending college and graduate school in applied behavior analysis and clinical psychology, I returned to Chicago in 1986 with the desire to start a child and family psychology practice. I worked hard in the early years to cultivate strong, mutually respectful relationships with many pediatricians and pediatric specialty physicians in the community, while also forming ties with medical centers, schools, publically funded community-based agencies, and graduate training programs in psychology.
Behavioral Psychology Associates opened its doors in early April of 1990 to address the needs of children, adolescents, and families. Since then, we have grown and expanded our scope to include working with adults and couples. We are happy to be able to offer services that include individual therapy for children, teenagers, and adults; couples counseling; family therapy; group therapy; psychiatric evaluations and treatment; psychological and psychoeducational testing; tutoring; and academic coaching. I am proud to announce that we recently celebrated 29 years in the community and look forward to our 30th year anniversary.
Our practice continues to change in many important and interesting ways. For example, we recently completed our third annual summer camp, "BUILDING CAPABLE KIDS." The camp is tailored to children from kindergarten through sixth grade. Throughout the summer campers are exposed to important skills during group activities such as: Mindfulness, team building, and behavioral regulation. In addition, Dr. Ann Srodulski has started a new group for girls, called "Girl Talk." This group covers important topics related to friendships in a warm and supportive setting. The next year is sure to bring even more exciting changes to Behavioral Psychology Associates.
