Treatments are designed to restore balance, reduce pain and promote overall wellness. We are your partner in health for every step of your journey. Journey to Wellness, Inc has been serving the Hoffman Estates, IL community since 2020, after beginning in Addison, IL. Owner and practitoner, Jennifer Dexheimer, is a board certified, licensed acupuncturist dedicated to helping patients restore balance, reduce pain, and improve overall well-being through traditional and evidence-informed care. Jennifer brings more than 25 years of experience as a massage therapist and an extensive background in integrative medicine research and education at the National University of Health Sciences. Her holistic approach combines acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, guasha, taping, ear seeding, bodywork, and self-care guidance to create personlaized treatment plans that address each patient's unique needs and goals. She has worked with patients of all ages navigating stress, pain, injury recovery, mobility challenges, digestive disorders, difficulties with sleep, women's health concerns, and wellness optimization. Whether you are seeking acupuncture for pain relief, stress management, overall balance or some other chronic health concern Jennifer integrates clinical knowledge with practical care to support your healing journey to wellness. In addition to patient care Jennifer continues to stay connected to the broader healing community through volunteer work with the Reiki Brigade and ongoing alignment with both the Illinois Society of Acupuncturists and the Massage Therapy Foundation's mission of research, education, and service. Appointments for acupuncture (60 or 90 minutes) and massage therapy are available, along with dedicated self-care consulations to help patients extend the benefits of their treatments through stretching, self-massage, and other supportive practices. Attended a wonderful Women in Business Event today at the Schaumburg Business Association. Many thanks to my friend, colleague, and amazing massage therapist Dana of for the invite and the SBA for putting on such an important talk about the opioid crisis.

Did you know acupuncture can be used as an adjunct and complementary therapy to support recovery, calm and resilence in addicts? Traditional Chinese Medicine therapies can make recovery and withdrawl symptoms more manageable. It can also support families by managing associated stress, anxiety, and trauma to help them move forward and rebuild their lives.

Two weeks into offering our new acupuncture services and we're still supporting patients with pain and stress management, but we are also assisting with concerns related to digestive imbalances and allergy support. Additionally, we are pleased to share we have successfully guided our first late-term pregnancy through labor preparation and encouragement!

For those who are unaware, acupuncture is a safe and low risk therapy for healthy pregnancies. Treatments for labor preparation can began around weeks 36-38. Some research indicates that acupuncture can help prepare the cervix for delivery, encourage uterine activity, balance hormones and energy levels, relieve discomfort and reduce stress. If you find that you are late term or post term and have no other pregnancy complications, you may want to consider a natural therapy prior to receiving a medical induction, we can help with labor encouragement!

Now that we are elevating our service with the addition of acupuncture, I am excited to share some new office features with you!

Not only is this new electric high/low table super comphy, it has a working weight of 650 lbs and it also sports the option to elevate the back and/or the legs!

It has a fantastic adjustable chest piece that not only offers more comfort if you have a large chest, but for those of you with forward rolled shoulders it alows you to sink into the table much more comfortably without that feeling of pressure on your shoulders.

Lastly, the face cradle has individually moveable plates to keep the pressure off of your sinuses! Hopefully leaving you feeling less stuffy when you have a facedown treatment.

You might also notice another new item in the background. Each room now has a infrared TDP lamp. Since we don't typically use sheets in an acupuncture sessions this lamp will keep you nice and warm throughout your treatment, but the near and far infrared also offer many health benefits. Ask me about them at your next visit!

If that was enticing, don't wait, book your acupuncture visit now at: gojourneytowellness.noterro.com
