Our practice is founded on the conviction that the work we do is extremely important. The importance of this work is made clear by looking at its three components---
-- Helping sick children feel better
-- Helping healthy children stay healthy
-- Helping parents become competent and confident in their parenting skills. We believe in a "holistic" approach to pediatric care, beyond the mere treatment of disease. For that reason we feel that such matters as nutrition, sleep, physical fitness, child development, and behavioral issues are also vital areas of concern. Finally, we place a special emphasis on being available to our patients and their families--- with extended hours, easy phone access, and same-day sick appointments. We don’t pretend to always be "healers", but we do make a point of seeing children through their illness. Alexius Hospital, Northwest Community Hospital,&

With school back in session, many little ones are stepping into their classrooms for the very first time—what an exciting milestone!

That said, the back-to-school season also means increased exposure to new germs.

Even older, seasoned kiddos often come down with multiple illnesses as fall and winter arrive.

This article from Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago offers some excellent tips on how to boost your child’s immune system:

https://www.luriechildrens.org/en/blog/how-to-boost-your-childs-immune-system/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=engagingnetworks&utm_campaign=every_child_update&utm_content=Every+Child+Update+-+Consumer+-+2025-8+-+Core

Dr. Elizabeth Lippner recommends:

Ensuring adequate sleep
Encouraging regular physical activity
Providing a balanced diet rich in fruits & veggies
Staying up to date on vaccines
Managing stress levels
Maintaining good hydration
Protecting skin health & limiting irritants

Illnesses are part of growing up, but these steps can help support your child’s defenses. We review this at each well visit, and we’re always here for questions — or to see your child when they’re not feeling their best. Wishing everyone a healthy and happy school year! Best of luck!

Kids’ immune systems help keep them from getting sick. Here’s how you can boost your child’s immune system and support healthy immune system function.

To our wonderful Bedrose Pediatrics families,

We’d like to share a heartfelt message written by the American Academy of Pediatrics:

https://www.healthychildren.org/English/safety-prevention/immunizations/Pages/why-pediatricians-recommend-vaccines-a-message-to-parents.aspx

At Bedrose Pediatrics, we wholeheartedly support and follow the guidance of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Our mission is to provide the most up-to-date, evidence-based, and safest care possible to protect and nurture every child we see.

As parents ourselves, many of us understand firsthand the worries and hopes you carry for your children. We strive to care for your family with the same dedication and compassion we give our own.

This letter deeply resonated with us, and we hope it brings you the same sense of reassurance and trust in the work we do together - especially given current times.

As always, thank you for allowing us to be part of your child’s journey. We’re here for any questions or concerns you may have.

Here's why pediatricians recommend vaccines with confidence. As vaccine misinformation comes from the highest levels, they will continue to be there for you to support important parenting decisions.

🌍💙 Giving back and bonding!
This month, our pediatric office team had the opportunity to, once again, volunteer at Feed My Starving Children—a powerful experience packing meals and making a difference in the lives of children around the world. 🙌✨

After our shift, we headed to Bahama Breeze (RIP😭) to relax, recharge, and enjoy some well-earned drinks and appetizers together! 🍹🍤 Great food, even better company, and a reminder of how grateful we are to work with such a caring, compassionate team.

In recent news, you may have heard about a report that found heavy metals or other contaminants in certain baby formulas.

We understand how concerning this information can be. As a society—and especially as parents and caregivers—we want to be confident that baby formula is 100% safe, especially when it may be a baby’s sole source of nutrition.

At Bedrose Pediatrics, we trust and follow guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), a reliable and science-based resource we rely on to provide transparent, evidence-based care.

Here is an article from the AAP that we hope will offer some reassurance. It also includes a link to the recent report:
https://www.healthychildren.org/English/tips-tools/ask-the-pediatrician/Pages/is-baby-formula-safe.aspx #:~:text=Baby%20formula%20has%20been%20a,is%20affordable%20for%20all%20babies

As a practice, we also want our families to know that we keep a careful record of any oral samples we provide—such as vitamin D drops, formula, probiotics, etc.—so that if there is ever a recall or safety issue, we can notify you right away.

Your child’s health and safety will always be our top priority

Many families feed formula to their infant in the first year of life as an alternative to human milk. They trust that it will be safe and provide the nutrients their baby needs. Still, you may have heard about a report that found heavy metals or other contaminants in some baby formula products. The...

After 23 incredible years with Bedrose Pediatrics, we bid farewell to Dr. Silver as she officially retires from our pediatric practice. 🎉 Her dedication to our patients and their families has made a lasting impact on our community.

We recently gathered at the Lucky Monk to celebrate her remarkable career and the knowledge she brought to our clinic. ❤️ She will be deeply missed by both staff and patients alike. Wishing her all the best in this new chapter of her life!

Thank you, Dr. Silver, for everything! 🌈✨

Beyfortus (Nirsevimab) vaccines are available at our office! We are scheduling patients to get it ASAP! Sick season is officially here.

RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) is a virus that spreads like any other cold, but it can be the reason why younger children get very ill. In fact, RSV is the most common cause of hospitalization in children under age 1. These children often need oxygen and IV fluids to recover.

We are so grateful to have Beyfortus. As a refresher, this is a one time vaccine. It provides passive immunization. This means it is an antibody against RSV that can give your child protection within a few hours and last up to 5 months. It is FDA approved for babies under 8 months of age and is to be given during RSV season. However, it may also be given to children up to 2 years of age who are at risk for severe RSV disease. The CDC, AAP, and our office highly recommend it, so if interested please call our office. We can give it during a scheduled well visit or a separate scheduled weight check.

Here is some more information regarding RSV immunization:

For parents, there is also a live free webinar on this topic on Oct 25th:
