Meet the new addition to our team! Mayra, a compassionate bilingual therapist, holds over 12 years of experience in human services. She specializes in bilingual and bicultural counseling. Mayra offers personalized support for individuals and families, focusing on trauma, anxiety, self-injury, depression, life transitions, emotional regulation, grief, anger management, and racial/cultural identity.

With a background as a Clinical Psychologist in Mexico, she successfully assisted adolescents with self-injury. Mayra has contributed to academia and literature, co-authoring a chapter on self-inflicting violence and addiction to pain in the book "Conductas Adictivas Fenómeno Biopsicosocial."

She employs a range of therapeutic approaches including CBT, psychodynamic therapy, narrative therapy, strength-based approaches, SFBT, DBT, and TF-CBT to meet individual needs. Her commitment is to empower clients through exceptional counseling services in a safe and supportive environment, guiding them towards mental and emotional well-being. Take a moment to meet Ana Baird, LCSW, founder and owner of A Better You Counseling.

Ana is a Bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She graduated with her Masters of Social Work degree from Aurora University. Her level of expertise includes working with individuals, groups, and families from diverse backgrounds, as well as the LGBTQIA+ community. She addresses depression, anxiety, grief, anger, trauma, and family relational problems.

She is committed to assisting each individual build on their existing strengths to live their best possible life. She believes helping is an honor; therapy is a collaborative adventure; and that we are all choice-makers.
