Mrs. Barbara Washbish Miller, 78, of Hogansville, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the home of her son.

Mrs. Miller was born February 21, 1947, in Miami, Florida, daughter of the late Robert McDonald Washbish and Jeanette Alice Collis Washbish. A retired registered nurse, she was employed for many years at Hollywood Memorial Health System in Hollywood, Florida and at Hospice of Dade County in Miami. She earned an associate degree in nursing at Broward Community College and a BSN and MBA from Nova University. Mrs. Miller was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Hogansville, enjoyed crocheting and gardening, and especially loved to read, reading several books each week.

Survivors include her son and daughter in-law, Tim and Tonya Miller of Hogansville; grandchildren, Katie Vega-Miller (Alejandro Vega), Zack Miller, Courtney Hodges (Patrick Hodges), Jennifer Johnson (R B Johnson) Lewis Marreo (Ariana); and great-grandchildren, Rylee Grace Johnson, Luke Michael Johnson, Mac Lane Vega, and Lina Marie Marreo.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 22, 2025, at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, with the Reverend Jan S. Tolbert officiating.

The family will greet friends at the church before and after the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, Post Office Box 176, Hogansville, GA 30230.

Brian William Farmer, 49, of LaGrange, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.

Mr. Farmer was born March 12, 1976, in LaGrange and was a lifelong resident of LaGrange. He was a former employee of General Fibers and Fabrics and had also worked as a brick mason. He was Baptist by faith and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his girlfriend, Stephanie Redden; his mother, Carolyn Farmer; brothers, Ronnie Farmer, Jr. and Daniel Lee Pitts, all of LaGrange, Tim Farmer of Valley, AL; sister, Crystal Demayuga of Newnan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronnie Wilburn Farmer, Sr.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 20, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., prior to the service.

Mr. Roy A. Thompson, 84, of Roanoke, AL and formerly of Hogansville and LaGrange, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Traylor Nursing Facility in Roanoke.

Mr. Thompson was born November 20, 1941, in Carrollton, son of the late Loomis Guy Thompson and Jessie Ruth Wright Thompson. A resident of Troup County most of his life, he was employed for many years as a firefighter for Troup County Fire Department, as an EMT for Troup County EMS, and later retired as a truck driver for Rental Service Company. After his retirement, he served as a bus driver for the Troup County School System and as a valued employee of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. Mr. Thompson enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, and especially loved meeting and speaking to everyone.

Survivors include his daughters and sons in-law, Vicki and Randy Holliday of Roanoke, AL, Vanessa and Gary Railey of Greer, SC, Venita and Todd Wulffson of Eagle, ID; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a niece, Michelle Snyder Smith of LaGrange. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ida Mae Snyder; and his wives, Marie Denney Thompson Nolen, Mary Nell Arrington Thompson; and Colleen Clark Thompson.

A private family interment service will be held at Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange.

Mrs. Dianne Ivey Wood, 61, of Newnan, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2025, at her home.

Mrs. Wood was born May 4, 1964, in Newnan, daughter of the late Walter Marshall Ivey and Lois Arlene Alcott Ivey. A resident of Grantville and Newnan most of her life, she was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and served as a Boy Scout volunteer for many years. She earned an associate degree from the University of West Georgia and was a longtime employee of the Coweta County African American Museum. Mrs. Wood loved studying genealogy and was an avid supporter of the military and veterans of military service.

Survivors include her husband, Terry Wood; son, Andrew Christopher Wood and his wife Miranda; grandchildren, Michael Jerry Wood, Haley Grace Wood, and Lucas Andrew Wood, all of Newnan; bonus grandchildren, Lillie Tyree and Issac Taft of Hogansville, Addy Marshall of Sharpsburg; sister, Marsha Carol Veal and her husband Ricky Veal of LaGrange; her mother in-law, Delphine Walters and sister in-law, Darlene Johnson, both of Sanford, NC; brother in-law, John Wood and his wife Anita Wood of Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, David Allen Ivey and Lester Dale Ivey.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 19, at New Hope Baptist Church in Newnan, with Pastor Jason Settle officiating. Interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Friday, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.

Mr. Stanley Arrington, 75 of Grantville, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025, at his home.

Born November 27, 1950 in Heard County, Mr. Arrington was the son of the late Bill and Kate Shelnutt Arrington. He was a lifelong resident of Grantville and had worked for Danny Green Trucking for over 20 years. Mr. Arrington loved hunting, gardening, and loved his dog, BooBoo.

Survivors include his daughter and son in-law, Donna and Allen Fields of Newnan; son, Jeffrey Arrington of Grantville; brother and sister in-law, Wade and Teresa Arrington of Moreland; grandchildren, Brett Fields, Christy Roddy, Chance Stapleton, Emily Stapleton, and Brandon Stapleton; great-grandchildren, Jacob Fields and Shelby Roddy; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Arrington was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Meadows Arrington; brothers, Ricky Arrington and Wayne Arrington; and a sister, Peggy Harris.

Margaret Inez Gresham, devoted wife and loving mother, age 83, of Manchester, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 19,1942 to James and Hazel Williams.

Margaret was a shining light to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She loved gardening, collecting turtle and frog figurines, working on puzzles, and watching cowboy movies. A faithful Christian woman, she loved God and her church deeply and was a dedicated Sunday School teacher cherished by many.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James Gresham; one son, Gene Gresham and his wife Ann of Australia; and two grandsons, Jonathan Gresham and Jeremy Gresham of Columbus, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Hazel Willams; and one brother David Williams.

She is reunited in Heaven with her daughter, Karen Gresham, and will be greatly missed.

Miss Gloria Ann Davis, 90, of LaGrange, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Florence Hand Home.

Born June 2, 1935, in the countryside around Grantville, she was the daughter of the late Lucille Powers Davis and John Dewey Davis. Ann graduated from Grantville High School in 1952 and attended West Georgia College from 1952 until 1954. She was a resident of LaGrange for 71 years, and worked at GMAC from 1954 until 1979, followed by C & S Bank from 1980 until 1990. Ann was a longtime member of Unity Baptist Church.

Ann is survived by a niece and nephew, and many cousins and dear friends. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Nell “Susy” Taylor; and brother in-law, Glenn “Bud” Taylor.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon), Tuesday, December 9, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Doug Bingham will officiate and interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Unity Baptist Church in LaGrange.

Eben Seth "Ebo" Elder

Mr. Eben Seth “Ebo” Elder, 46, of Hogansville, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, December 1, 2025 after a year-long battle with brain cancer.

Ebo was born December 23,1978 in Newnan, Georgia and was a 1997 graduate of Newnan High School. Ebo was a bible teacher, evangelist, ex pro boxer, and carpenter but most importantly was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa.

Ebo had a zeal for life unlike any other. His passion and drive extended into every area of his life. He was an incredibly gifted speaker, a master craftsman, a loyal friend, and a visionary.

Ebo was nicknamed “The X-treme Machine” and received many accomplishments in his boxing career. He earned three championship belts, appeared on the second season of ESPN’s reality show the Contender and won a fight nominated for “fight of the year” and “knockout of the year” on Showtime in 2004. He also earned a Silver medal for the United States in the 1998 Goodwill Games on HBO at Madison Square Garden. Ebo wrote and published his autobiography “The Great Comeback” in March of 2020 and has sold hundreds of copies, and encouraged many with his story.

Ebo married his high school sweetheart Amy Elder and had four daughters who were his pride and joy. His mission in life was sharing the gospel hope of Jesus Christ, and he dedicated his life to this and led so many to faith and hope.

His family he leaves behind are his wife, Trish Elder; his daughters Mattie Wise, Abbie Taylor, Gabbie Elder, and Addie Elder; his sons in-law, Blake Wise and Bobby Taylor; and his grandsons, Dillon and Micah Wise who called him “Bobo”; and his sister, Heather Bowles.

The family will host a celebration of Ebo’s life to be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 14, at Southcrest Church in Newnan. The family will greet friends at the church following the service.

Harvey Charles Kee, age 80, passed away peacefully at home on December 1, 2025.

He was born on July 17, 1945 in Albany, GA, son of the late Eva Astalee Jones Kee and Harvey Clinton Kee. A resident of LaGrange since 1971, he retired from West Point Pepperell Dixie Division after 37 years of service, and then went on to retire from Troup County School System Transportation Department after 14 years of service. While he was employed with the TCSS, he received recognition for his safety and driving skills.

Mr. Kee was known for many wonderful attributes: his great faith and love of God, his amazing love for his family, his patience and willingness to help any and everyone. He was honest, hard-working, conservative, and a great role model for his kids and grandkids. He was a huge presence when he entered a room, a gentle giant. He loved to joke and make people smile. He was a wonderful Daddy/Pop and Paw Paw (the best) and led by example. In his younger years, he loved following his kids and grandkids in all their sports and activities. He loved working on cars, watching westerns, and anything related to history. He didn't volunteer advice or his opinion, but when asked, he always gave the best advice you could ask for. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. He is described by his sons-in-law as a devoted family man, a great friend to have and "the last of the John Wayne's"

Mr. Kee is survived by his children, Jo Shannon (Roy) Scott, Wayne (Kristi) Kee, Richard (Allison) Kee, and Angie (Bobby) Cardwell; sister, Karey Ann (Johnny) Murphy; sister-in-law, Nancy Kee; brother-in-law, Danny (Ann) Murray; grandchildren, Caroline (Alex) Oglesby, Charlie Levi Scott, Bailey (Darryl) Dodd, Murphi Kee, Will Lanxton, Zach (Summer) Lanxton, Keigan (Lauryn) Crowder, Chelci (Will) Turner, Evie (Trey) Messer and Charles Brenton Cardwell; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Phyllis Murray Kee; son, Danny Randall Hubbard; brothers, Harold Lee Kee and Danny Irvin Kee, grandson, Robert Lee Cardwell, III.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 4, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Brad Thompson will officiate and interment will be in Hillview East Cemetery in LaGrange.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, and at other times the family will gather at his home.

Coleby James Dwight Johnson, 30, of the Corinth Community of Heard County, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Wellstar North Fulton Hospital in Roswell.

Coleby was born March 20, 1995, in LaGrange, was a lifelong resident of Heard County, and was a 2013 graduate of Heard County High School. He enjoyed watching TV and playing video games, had a great sense of humor and enjoyed joking around, and loved being with his family, especially with his great-niece. Coleby loved being outdoors, by the lakeside or in the woods watching the birds and the animals.

Survivors include his parents, Sandra and James Johnson; sisters, Wendi Lee Johnson and Shauna Brittani Johnson, all of Corinth; niece, Kaydin Shianne Tiller; nephew, Kollin Avery Johnson; and great-niece, Shiloh Christine Arthur. Coleby is also survived by his loving aunts and uncles, Wayne and Becky Akins, Jr. and Bobbie Cook, Tommy and Belinda Hawk, and Kenny and Tammy Phillips.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 3, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Wayne Akins will officiate and interment will be in the Corinth Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, prior to the service.

Mrs. Mary Alice West, 72, of Griffin, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Navicent Health The Medical Center in Macon.

Mrs. West was born October 8, 1953, in Newnan, daughter of the late Johnny Powers and Alice Attaway Powers. A resident of Griffin for the past ten years, she was a former resident of Newnan, where she worked for many years at Bonnell Aluminum and Cason Industries. She loved all animals.

Survivors include her husband, Neill West of Griffin; granddaughter, Holly Smith (Luke) of Ft. Polk, LA, and Joshua Lowuer (Ashley) of Norfolk, VA; great-grandchildren, Allie Smith, Josie Smith, Rayleigh Lowuer, Tenley Lowuer, Everly Lowuer; sisters, Elizabeth Bishop of Griffin, Laura Walters of Arizona; brothers, Michael Powers of Covington, William Powers of Roberta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Traci West Bishop and her son, Tony West.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 1, at the graveside in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan, with the Reverend Frank Powers officiating.

Mr. Charles L. Strickland, 80, of Luthersville, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical in LaGrange.

Mr. Strickland was born February 11, 1945, in Meriwether County, son of the late Charles Luther Strickland and Edna Mae Leach Strickland. A lifelong resident of Meriwether County, he retired from William L. Bonnell Company in Newnan after 47 years of service. He was a simple man who loved and provided for his wife and children.

Survivors include his children, Dewayne Strickland (Terri Strickland) of Moreland, Brett Strickland (Paula Strickland) of Newnan, Saundra Strickland-Hogue (Dustin Hogue) of LaGrange, Audrey Garcia (Alex Garcia) of Valley, AL; thirteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Robbie Combs Strickland.

The family is honoring Mr. Strickland’s wishes that no service be held.
