Remember- yang energy is not bad! It’s what gives us energy and motivation. We just need a balance.
Other ways to nourish your yin and stay in balance: take a bath, take time for quiet and rest, deep breathing, journaling, yin yoga, rest when tired, stay hydrated, eat soup and get acupuncture!

You are not alone if the transition to Spring has you out of sorts. Try a little acupressure to help that get that stuck Spring Liver qi moving! This point can be so helpful for stress, frustration, pms, headaches and lots more.

Season transitions are messy! And Winter to Spring might be the messiest one of all.

Stay tuned for more info about why this can be a hard time of year and how to make it an easier transition.

In the meantime- try to enjoy some warmer days!

Whole person care means taking the time to really see someone, meet them where they are and finding the first manageable step.

It’s good to be cozy. And sometimes I look at all the yummy supplies I get to work with and it feels like Christmas!

“It was observed that three sessions of acupuncture before and after ET significantly increased the pregnancy rates in women with unexplained infertility. It was also found that acupuncture significantly reduced anxiety levels that occurred before ET.”
(ET stands for embryo transfer)

I keep this in every treatment room at the office, in my medicine cabinet at home, in my travel bag. There is a bottle at my parents house, my sister’s house, my son’s dorm room. I’ve emergency mailed or delivered it to more than one friend. It is my top selling product at the office. Because it works! It’s amazing!

This is what Moxa looks like while burning on the needles.

Moxa is dried mugwort and its herbal properties are warming and pungent. We use it in Chinese medicine to help to increase blood flow, relieve pain, stimulate healing, build qi and transform dampness.

And it feels amazing!

This cold damp weather is crummy for arthritis. Together (healing is always a team effort) we have prevented the need for western intervention on this lovely woman’s arthritic knees for years with acupuncture, moxa and regular movement.

Bundle up and get some sunshine! Follow with a cup of hot tea or soup- warm liquids nourish the dryness of winter and protect our Spleen qi (think energy and good digestion) and our yang energy.
Happy sunny Saturday, my friend!

What are your snowy weekend plans? Looks like this girl has decided hers!
Tell me…
What are you cooking?
What are you doing for self care?
What are you doing that calms your nervous system?
And what are you doing that brings you joy?

For me? Still deciding but here are my initial plans:
Sourdough baking!
Yoga (YouTube fwfgyoga)
Mandala coloring
Brunch out with my beloved before the storm!
Insight Timer meditation
Call The Midwife on TV (OBSESSED!)

I’ll post some links and pics in the comments as my weekend progresses!
