🌸 Skilled Nursing Care Week Recap 🌸

Last week at Holdrege Memorial Homes, our home was filled with laughter, teamwork, family, and meaningful moments shared together.

Thanks to the support of the HMH Foundation and generous donations toward the beautification of our home, flowers brightened our spaces throughout the week for residents, families, staff, and visitors.

Tuesday evening brought our annual Resident & Family Indoor BBQ, where families, residents, and staff gathered together to enjoy good food, conversations, and extra time with one another.

Residents also enjoyed planting flowers and succulents alongside students from Holdrege Middle School, creating special memories and smiles throughout the week.

Staff participated in our “Moments in Bloom” themed Bingo throughout the week with activities that encouraged kindness, teamwork, and connecting with coworkers throughout different areas of the home. Congratulations to Kim Penny, whose completed Bingo card was selected as our winner and received custom HMH branded apparel of her choice. 🕊️

At HMH, it is the little moments shared together that help make our home so special. Thank you to everyone who helped make Skilled Nursing Care Week meaningful for our residents, families, and staff. 🏡

🌸 Moments in Bloom at HMH 🌸

Skilled Nursing Care Week was filled with flowers, family, laughter, teamwork, and meaningful moments throughout our home. From our Resident & Family Indoor BBQ to flower planting with students from Holdrege Middle School, this week reminded us that the little moments shared together often mean the most. 💜

Small town outings, surprise puppy pets, bird seed shopping, and running into old friends along the way 🏡💜

Our Assisted Living residents spent the afternoon exploring Bomgaars, picking up a few favorites, visiting the chicks, and enjoying the simple moments that make these outings so meaningful.

Our Assisted Living residents enjoyed a fun afternoon outing to Bomgaars recently, picking up a few things we needed and taking time to enjoy all the little moments along the way 🏡

One important stop on the list? Wild bird seed to help keep the birds outside our windows well fed… and maybe a few squirrels too 🐦🐿️

Residents enjoyed browsing through clothing, jewelry, snacks, and all the unique treasures you can find throughout the store. Of course, no trip to Bomgaars is complete without stopping to admire the chicks before they head off to their new homes 🐥

The outing even came with a fun surprise puppy stop 🐶 Thank you to the girls who let our residents sneak in a few puppy pets while we were out and about.

We even had a few short visits with old friends from school along the way. You never quite know who you will run into in a small town, and those unexpected moments always mean so much.

We are so thankful for a community and local businesses that continue to welcome our residents and give them the opportunity to get out, shop, visit, and enjoy time together 💜

National Skilled Nursing Care Week 2026

While Holdrege Memorial Homes has changed through the years, the foundation it was built on remains the same.

For generations, these halls have been filled with compassion, caregiving, friendship, comfort, and moments that continue to bloom into lasting memories for the people who call HMH home.

From familiar conversations shared in the hallway to the quiet moments of support during difficult days, the heart of our home has always been centered around caring for others with dignity, kindness, and compassion.

As we begin National Skilled Nursing Care Week, we reflect on the many residents, families, staff, and community members who have helped shape HMH throughout the years. Every generation has left a lasting impact on the story of this home and the care that continues within it today.

Though much has grown and evolved over time, our commitment to caring for the ones who cared for us remains deeply rooted at the heart of all we do.
