💚🎉 Happy HR Appreciation Week! 🎉💚

This week we’re celebrating Jennifer Brecht! 🌟 Jennifer has been with Vancrest for 21 years, bringing dedication, hard work, and a positive attitude that supports both staff and residents every day. She is always willing to lend a hand, answer questions, and help keep everything running smoothly.

Outside of work, Jennifer and her husband Mike have a big, fun-loving family with 4 children, 2 sons-in-law, a daughter-in-law, a bonus daughter, and 8 grandchildren, plus 3 dogs and 5 grand dogs! 🐾 They love spending time together boating, camping, attending sporting events, and enjoying a good old Sunday Funday with family and friends. Jennifer also enjoys thrifting, refinishing furniture, and repurposing anything creative.

Jennifer is grateful for the many opportunities Vancrest has given her over the years, and we are so thankful for the care, time, and energy she brings to our facility every day.

🌿 Preventing Falls 🌿

Falls are one of the most common causes of injury for older adults, but a few simple steps can help keep you safe and steady

Ways to Reduce Fall Risk:
1️⃣ Keep walkways clear – Remove clutter, loose rugs, and cords
2️⃣ Light the way – Make sure hallways, stairs, and entrances are well-lit
3️⃣ Supportive shoes – Wear shoes with good traction and proper support
4️⃣ Reach safely – Keep frequently used items within easy reach to avoid climbing or stretching
5️⃣ Stay active – Strength and balance exercises can improve stability and confidence

A little prevention goes a long way toward staying independent and enjoying every day

💚✨ Celebrating Long Term Care Administrators Week! ✨💚

This week, we are celebrating an amazing leader whose dedication, compassion, and guidance make our facility a place where residents feel cared for and staff feel supported every day.

We want to give a special thank you to Heather Strauser, who has been part of the Vancrest family for almost 9 years. Her leadership, warmth, and commitment to the residents and her team truly make a difference. Heather loves the home-like environment at Vancrest and the way everyone works together like family. Her passion for building meaningful connections with residents and their families shines through in everything she does.

Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband, John, and daughter, Anslee, along with their two lovable labs, Lacey and Maya—and sometimes Lacey even joins her at the facility! She also loves traveling, relaxing at home, or enjoying time at the lake.

💚✨ Happy Maintenance Worker Appreciation Day! ✨💚

A big thank you to Jeff Rothman, who has been a valued part-time member of our maintenance team for the past 4 years! 🛠️ Jeff brings not only his expertise, but also a love for family and community—he’s been married to Annette for 46 years, has 4 daughters and 11 grandchildren, and enjoys helping out in local organizations.

Jeff loves staying active, watching all kinds of sports, and cherishing his favorite vacations in Portugal and Maine. Before joining Vancrest, he retired from Tenneco after 34 years of dedicated work. His hard work and commitment make our facility a better place every day!

A huge thank you to Lonzo Thacker, our Director of Maintenance for the past 6 years! 🛠️ Lonzo loves his work family and the residents, and he couldn’t ask for a better job. His hard work and dedication behind the scenes keep our facility safe, comfortable, and running smoothly every day. 💚✨ Happy National Social Services Month! ✨💚

We are proud to recognize Lea Troyer for her incredible dedication to Vancrest. Lea has been part of our family for 22 years, and her commitment, compassion, and heart for service make a difference every day for our residents and their families.

Outside of work, Lea enjoys a full and vibrant life. She is married to Brent, has 3 children, 2 sons-in-law, and 2 granddaughters, and her youngest child is a senior this year! Lea loves gardening, reading, traveling, and recently mastered sourdough baking!!

We are so thankful for all that Lea brings to our Vancrest family. Her dedication, positivity, and warmth brighten the days of everyone around her.
