Chapter 2 - Unbecoming
Episode 2 - Body Acceptance vs Body Love

We don’t talk about this enough…

Maybe loving your body isn’t the goal.

Because if we’re honest?
That can feel like just another standard we’re supposed to meet.

For years it was:
Hate your body. Fix your body. Shrink your body.

And then it became:
Love your body. Celebrate your body. Feel amazing in your body… all the time.

And that pressure?
It didn’t disappear.
It just changed shape.

What if there’s another way?

What if body acceptance isn’t about loving every inch…
but about stepping out of the constant evaluation altogether?

Because here’s the truth—
Our version of ourselves is not what other people see.

Our bodies?
They’re just bodies.
Different shapes. Different seasons. Different stories.

And there’s something kind of freeing about this stage of life…
Where we’re finally doing things we never let ourselves do before.

Wearing the two-piece.
Letting things be softer.
Not apologizing for how we take up space.

Not because we suddenly love everything we see—
But because we’ve decided it doesn’t get to control us anymore.

That’s the shift.

From obsession → to peace.
From criticism → to neutrality.
From performance → to respect.

What if your body isn’t something to love or hate…
but something to live in?

A little quieter.
A little freer.
A lot more honest.

Chapter 2: Unbecoming
Episode 1: Grieving Younger Versions of Ourselves

You don’t hear this talked about enough…

Midlife isn’t just about becoming someone new.
It’s about grieving who you used to be.

The version of you who followed the rules.
Who believed certain things would last forever.
Who built a life that no longer quite fits.

And here’s the part we don’t say out loud—

So much of who we became…
was built on inherited beliefs.

Things we didn’t choose.
Things we didn’t question.
Things that were just… handed to us.

From family.
From culture.
From generations before us.

And at the time—they weren’t right or wrong.
They were just what we knew.

But midlife hands you something powerful:

The chance to ask—
Was that actually good for me?
Is that something I want to carry forward?

And that’s where it gets hard.

Because becoming who you truly are…
means dismantling who you thought you had to be.

And that can feel scary.

Disorienting.
Unsettling.
Even a little lonely.

But it’s also honest.

It’s where the real work begins.

That’s not failure.
That’s awareness.

That’s you deciding what stays…
and what no longer belongs.

✨ You’re not losing yourself.
You’re uncovering yourself.

What belief are you starting to question?

Chapter 2: Unbecoming
Episode 1: Grieving Younger Versions of Ourselves

You don’t hear this talked about enough…
Midlife isn’t just about becoming someone new.
It’s about grieving who you used to be.
And that grief can feel confusing… because nothing is technically wrong.
But everything feels… different.
Psychologists actually call this season a second adulthood.
A time where we start asking:
Am I going to keep living by the old scripts…
or am I ready to create something new?
Because the truth is—
the old scripts are easy.
You don’t have to question anything.
You don’t have to disappoint anyone.
You just stay on autopilot.
But midlife doesn’t let you stay there.
Something shifts.
You become more reflective.
More aware.
More honest.
You start seeing the roles you played…
the expectations you carried…
the versions of yourself that were built around keeping the peace.
And letting go of her?
That’s the grief.
Not because she was wrong…
but because she got you here.
And now… she doesn’t quite fit anymore.
This isn’t a breakdown.
This is growth.
This is awareness.
This is you choosing to create something new—
with more authenticity, more depth, and a lot less concern about what everyone else thinks.
✨ You’re not losing yourself.
You’re meeting yourself.
What version of you are you starting to release?

There’s a grief no one talks about in midlife…

Not because someone died—
But because you changed.

You outgrew the version of yourself
that kept everything together.

The good girl.
The accommodating one.
The one who didn’t take up space.

And now?

You’re standing in the in-between…
not who you were—
but not fully who you’re becoming yet.

That feeling?
It’s not confusion.
It’s transformation.

In this episode of Unbecoming, we talk about:
• grieving your younger self
• why identity shifts feel so disorienting
• and how this is actually the beginning of something powerful

Chapter two - UNBECOMING
Episode one - Grieving the younger versions of ourselves
DROPS TODAY

You don’t hear this talked about enough…

Midlife isn’t just about becoming someone new.
It’s about grieving who you used to be.

And for a lot of us…
it’s also the moment we start questioning the rules we built our lives around.

There’s a quote by Brené Brown that always sticks with me—
she talks about how midlife is often an unraveling…
and in that unraveling, women start to realize:

Some of the rules I’ve been following were never written for my well-being.

Let that land for a second.

We were taught…
this is how you do life.
This is what a good woman looks like.
This is what you should want.

And for a long time, we followed it.

But then midlife hits…
and something in you starts to push back.

You start asking:
Who am I outside of these roles?
What do I actually want now?

And sometimes—if you’re honest—
you realize certain beliefs didn’t just not fit…
they actually hurt you.

That’s a hard thing to face.

But that’s also where the shift happens.

That’s not failure.
That’s awareness.

And that awareness?
That’s where your confidence starts to rise—
because you’re no longer blindly following…
you’re choosing.

You’re releasing what was never meant for you in the first place.

And that’s the beginning of something real.

What version of you…
and what beliefs…
are you starting to release?

Chapter 2 Episode 8 Invisible Labor Fatigue

This is the exhaustion no one sees…

Not the physical work.
The mental load.

The remembering.
The planning.
The anticipating.

Holding everything together… quietly.

For years.

And then one day you realize—
You’re tired in a way that rest doesn’t fix.

Because it’s not just what you do.
It’s what you carry.

What would happen if you stopped carrying it alone?

04/12/2026

Chapter 2 Episode 7 Releasing Comparison

Comparison doesn’t disappear in midlife…

It just gets quieter.

More subtle.
More internal.

You look around and think—
Am I behind?
Did I miss something?
Should my life look different by now?

But here’s the truth no one tells you:

There is no timeline.

There never was.

Just different paths.
Different seasons.
Different lives.

What if you stopped measuring…
and started choosing?

04/12/2026

Chapter 2 Perfection Detox
Most of us weren’t trying to be perfect.
We were trying to be accepted.

Be the good one.
The reliable one.
The one who holds everything together.

But midlife has a way of exposing something uncomfortable:

The standard was never real.

And the cost of keeping it up?
Exhaustion.

Resentment.
Losing yourself.

What if you stopped trying to get it right…
and started letting it be real?

What would you finally let go of?

04/11/2026

Chapter 2 Episode 5 Adult Child Boundaries

No one prepares you for this…

Your kids grow up.
But your role doesn’t just disappear.

It just… changes.

And sometimes the hardest part isn’t letting go of control—
it’s letting them live their own life without you managing it.

Without fixing.
Without stepping in.
Without carrying what isn’t yours anymore.

Because love in this stage looks different.

Less control.
More trust.

Where have you had to learn to step back?
