A few good weeks. And then it’s back.

You know the cycle. Things start feeling better. You move more, you push a little harder, you almost forget it was ever a problem. And then something shifts a long day, a workout, a weird night of sleep and you’re right back where you started.

So you rest. You ice. You stretch. You wait for it to calm down again. And it does. Until it doesn’t.

This is the part that makes people feel like their body is just broken. Like this is simply who they are now. Like some version of this pain is just going to be part of their life forever.

But that cycle is information. Pain that keeps returning after a few good weeks isn’t random. It means the thing driving it was never actually found. You treated the flare, not the cause. And the cause is still there, loading the same tissues, creating the same problem, waiting for the right moment to remind you it never left.

It’s not bad luck. It’s not your body failing you. It’s a pattern, and patterns have reasons.

When we find the reason, the cycle stops. Not because we managed it better, but because we actually fixed it.

You get cleared at 6 weeks and sent home with one instruction do your kegels.

And then months go by, and your back still aches, your core still feels like it belongs to someone else, and something just feels off that nobody has a good answer for.

This is not you being dramatic. This is what happens when an entire pressure system gets reorganized over 9 months and nobody helps you put it back together.

Your diaphragm, your deep abs, your pelvic floor, they don’t just snap back into coordination after birth. They have to relearn how to work as a team. And strengthening one piece of that system in isolation doesn’t rebuild the whole thing.

That’s why the back pain lingers. That’s why the core never feels stable no matter what you do. That’s why something still feels off even when you’ve been “cleared.”

We do things differently here. Every postpartum visit starts with a full picture not just the pelvic floor, but how your whole system is organizing load and stability again.

You did something extraordinary. Your recovery should match that.

If you’ve been working hard at the gym and still dealing with back tightness, a core that never feels stable, or hamstrings that no amount of stretching seems to fix this one is for you.

We’re hosting a free talk seminar at Orangetheory Fitness in Holland on Sunday, April 12th at 11am, and we’re going to talk about the connection most people never hear about: back pain, core function, and the pelvic floor, and why addressing all three together is what actually changes things.

Most people are training the symptoms. Stretching what’s tight, strengthening what feels weak, managing flare-ups when they come. But the reason none of it fully sticks is usually upstream from where it hurts. And once you understand that, everything starts to make more sense.

You’ll leave with a clearer picture of what’s actually going on in your body and real strategies you can start using right away.

It’s free. It’s an hour. And it might be the most useful thing you do for your body this month.

Your core has been “weak” for years and more planks aren’t helping.

Your hamstrings are always tight and stretching never actually fixes it.

You’ve done PT before and the pain came back anyway.

None of these things are random. None of them are just bad luck or a bad body. There is a reason each one of those keeps happening, and it almost always comes back to the same thing — nobody has looked upstream from where it hurts.

Most physical therapy is built around the symptom. You have knee pain, so you do knee exercises. You have back pain, so you do back exercises. And it helps for a while. Sometimes it helps a lot. But then something shifts, or life gets busy, or you push a little harder, and it’s back. Because the thing driving it was never addressed.

That’s not a failure of effort. That’s a gap in the evaluation.

We don’t start with your symptoms. We start with your system. How you move, how you load, where your body is compensating and why. And when we find the actual driver, the symptoms stop coming back.

Most PT treats where it hurts. We find why.

Your core isn’t weak. It’s confused.

That’s not an insult. It’s actually really important information.

Because if you’ve been doing the work the planks, the dead bugs, the bird dogs, the hollow holds — and your back still hurts, your posture still collapses, and nothing feels stable, you don’t have a lazy core. You have a core that never learned the right sequence.

Strength without coordination is just effort without results.

Your deep system the diaphragm, the pelvic floor, the transverse abdominis is supposed to activate before you move. Automatically. Without you thinking about it. That anticipatory stability is what actually protects your spine during real life. Not during a plank. During a sneeze. During a grocery bag. During getting out of bed.

When that system is disorganized, you compensate. You brace harder. You grip with your back. Your abs work overtime and your spine still feels like it could give out. And then someone tells you to strengthen your core more, and you do, and nothing changes.

That’s not a you problem. That’s a sequencing problem.

We don’t start by adding load. We start by restoring the pattern. And once the pattern is right, everything else actually holds.

If your core work has never fully fixed it, there’s a reason. We find it.

She was a competitive runner. She hadn’t run in 14 months.

Two years of groin pain. Hip strengthening, modified training, multiple attempts to return. Every single one failed within two weeks. Her imaging showed a labral tear and she was told surgery was the next step.

She came to us before scheduling it.

When we looked at how she actually moved, her pelvis was significantly rotated. Her left side dropped on every stride, driving shear load through her hip with every single step. Her adductors were gripping constantly trying to compensate for that instability. That grip was the groin pain. The labrum was being loaded because of the way her whole system was moving, not because it was simply torn and needed to be cut.

We never touched the labrum.

We addressed the pelvic rotation. We restored glute function that had gone almost completely dormant. We retrained her single-leg stability so her hip wasn’t absorbing load it was never meant to handle alone.

She ran at six weeks. No pain.

She never had surgery.

If you are dealing with a hip or groin injury that keeps coming back no matter what you do, make sure someone has actually looked at the system driving the load into that joint. Not just the joint itself.

That’s the question that changes everything.

A lot of people come to us having seen multiple providers, tried multiple treatments, and still not having answers. The first visit is where that changes.

Here’s what you can actually expect:

We start by listening. Not just to the painful area, to the whole story. How long it’s been there, what makes it better, what makes it worse, what you’ve already tried. The history almost always contains the answer. We just have to take the time to hear it.

Then comes the assessment. We look at your whole system how your pelvis is positioned, how your ribcage is moving, how load is traveling through your body. We’re not just looking at where it hurts. We’re looking for why.

Then we treat. We share what we found, explain why it makes sense, and get to work. Most patients feel a shift in that very first session.

You leave with something most people haven’t had before: a clear picture of what’s actually going on and a real plan to fix it.

Fully yours. No rushing, no rotating between patients, no generic exercise handouts.

Just answers.

Diastasis recti is one of the most misunderstood postpartum diagnoses we see.

It is not a tear. It is not damage. It is a normal adaptation your body made during pregnancy and closing the gap is not the goal.

Here’s what actually matters: a large gap with good pressure management causes zero symptoms. A small gap with a disorganized system can cause pain, leaking, and prolapse. Gap size alone tells us nothing.

We assess the whole system your diaphragm, pelvic floor, deep abdominals, and ribcage. When those are coordinating properly, your body manages the gap the way it was designed to.

Your pain is not normal.

Common? Yes. Something you just have to live with? Absolutely not.

We hear it all the time “my doctor said this is just part of getting older,” “I’ve just accepted it,” “I’ve tried everything.” And every time, we find something that was missed. A pattern nobody followed. A source nobody looked for.

That’s not a knock on anyone who came before us. It’s just what happens when care is focused on the symptom instead of the system.

We’re built differently. Three providers, one shared philosophy find the root cause, treat the whole person, don’t stop until it actually makes sense.

You shouldn’t have to manage your pain forever. You deserve to understand it. 🤍
