Today is National Women Physicians Day. It honors the birthday of Elizabeth Blackwell, the first female medical doctor in the US. Today we recognize women doctors across the country and the progress they have made since Blackwell’s time. Women currently make up more than half of all students in medical schools. We recognize their unique challenges and strive to support the women currently practicing medicine. And we fully encourage all of the girls who would like to become our future physicians!
