✨ Intern Spotlight: Nicole Allen ✨
We’re excited to introduce Nicole Allen (she/her), a clinical social work intern in her final year at Spring Arbor University. Nicole offers virtual therapy and psychological assessments for children, teens, young adults, and adults, with a special focus on supporting mothers navigating perinatal and postpartum mental health.
Nicole brings a warm, grounded, and compassionate presence to therapy. She is especially passionate about supporting children and teens experiencing anxiety and depression, young adults facing life transitions, and mothers adjusting to the mental health challenges of pregnancy and postpartum.
She works with clients ages 5 and up, creating a space where each person feels safe, supported, and seen. Guided by a holistic, person-centered approach, Nicole draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based strategies, and play therapy techniques. She believes therapy should be a space where people can show up just as they are—without pressure or judgment—and works collaboratively with clients to explore their strengths, goals, and personal stories.
Nicole specializes in supporting individuals facing:
⭐ Anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm
⭐ Perinatal and postpartum mental health
⭐ Life transitions and adjustment
⭐ Childhood and adolescent challenges
Outside of her clinical work, Nicole recently celebrated the arrival of her newborn and enjoys spending time in nature—especially hunting, fishing, and exploring the outdoors!
As an intern, Nicole offers free or low-cost therapy, with a sliding scale of $0–$50 per session, making mental health support more accessible.
Nicole practices under the supervision of Rebecca Gomez de Tuinstra, Ph.D., LP.
