A contained fire occurred in one of the apartments at The Warm Friend in the overnight hours, and thanks to the swift response of the Holland Fire Department and our team, no one was injured.

A special thanks to our neighbor, Bowerman's on 8th, for opening their doors in the late night hours to provide a comfortable place for our residents during the period of evacuation while our community experienced some much needed rain.

Nothing says summer like a trip to Captain Sundae! Each July, we take multiple groups of residents to this local favorite, and it’s some of the most anticipated days of the summer!

A huge thank you to the team members, family members, volunteers, and volunteer groups (North Point Community Church) who make these trips possible—we couldn’t do it without you!

Today is Resthaven’s 80th Anniversary—and the launch of our first annual Day of Giving!

This new tradition replaces our Giving Tuesday efforts in November, and will take place annually on May 7th, the day Resthaven was founded in 1945.

For 80 years, we’ve been a faith-based, not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving older adults with dignity, compassion, and love.

If everyone receiving our email and seeing our social posts gives just $5, together we can cover over 6 months of Benevolent Care for a resident in need. That’s an incredible impact. That's life changing.

We’re thrilled to announce the release of the Warm Friend Tavern Bier — a commemorative brew crafted by our friends at Big Lake Brewing to celebrate 100 years of The Warm Friend!

With a nod to The Warm Friend’s unique history — including its early days as a tavern and bierkelder during Prohibition — this special beer honors a century of hospitality, warmth, and community right in the heart of downtown Holland.
