Everything is Connected

The concept of interconnection of just about everything has been stewing deeply in me as I have spent years studying the way our body works alongside our natural world and social systems.
I’m trying to make sense of it all in context to what is going on around me.

The complexity I see is confounding but gratefully seems to spark more and more curiosity in me.

Let’s just take this one line of thought to dive into.
The human body is connected to and in relationship with
=> All the microbes in us and on us
=> All the microbes in our air, soil, water
All these microbes respond to
=> Environmental changes, such as changing weather patterns
All this affects
=> the quality of the air, food, and water that we humans need to function
Directly impacting how our human bodies feel and heal.

Our culture is embedded in this microbial web.
Our health depends on our culture
And our sense of safety.

As I see it, our culture (in the US and in varying degrees in other countries) has long been racing forward with a way of living (let’s just name it capitalism with its friends money & power) disregarding the many connections that exist.
A disillusioned and disconnected way to live.
Humans aren’t design to live with such division.
It seems like the wrong direction in terms of our health and wellbeing as a whole, and yes, disrespectful.

BUT
I also see a growing sense of understanding and strength brewing as we come to terms with the seemingly disillusioned disconnected view of our world.
I see the healing going on – on so many levels.

We are figuring out how to grow, heal, learn and improve as individuals within a society, in relationship with and as part of our natural world that sustains us as we sustain it.

In what ways do you feel connected?
In what ways do you feel disconnected?
I am curious.

Hydrate and optimize your fascia system in order to heal the rest of your body.

WHAT IT IS:
The fascia system is a biological fabric, a 3D fluid-based tension and compression management structure, throughout your body. There are many layers and different types of fascia tissue within this system, some more elastic, stretchable and responsive than others.

WHAT IT DOES:
This intricate web of connective tissue woven throughout affects our health and wellbeing on so many levels.

WHY IT MATTERS:
With this expanded understanding of our physiology, we can engage with the fascia tissue to alleviate chronic pain, release tension, restore mobility, systematically help hydrate the body, and other far-reaching health bonuses.

It’s like stumbling upon a hidden treasure map.

The reductionist approach in medicine has led to fragmented healthcare practice and research.
General systems theory used in Functional Medicine offers a different perspective that focuses on how parts combine to make a whole. A systems-based approach can bridge the gaps in conventional medicine.
New scientific developments in areas like the Fascia System, Human Microbiome, Psychoneuroimmunology, and Quantum Biology (just pointing out a few) are connecting the dots. These areas of study show the interconnectedness of the body and even validate ancient wisdom.
