Red Ribbon Week officially starts nationwide today through 10/31, and locally there are more events and activities happening thanks to San Benito County Office of Education and schools including:

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦Town Hall meeting on Fentanyl and Va**ng on 10/28 at 5pm-7pm at the EpiCenter in Downtown Hollister
🎤Ray Lozano at various local schools on 10/28-10/30
🚲Go Green BMX Riders at rural schools on 11/4 & 11/5
🐶WonderWoofs at rural schools

Red Ribbon Week is a campaign to educate kids to live drug-free and to encourage the community to participate in drug prevention activities. The campaign was established by the National Family Partnership to honor Drug Enforcement Administration Agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, who dedicated his life to fighting drugs. His loved ones and community started wearing red ribbons to continue his work to raise awareness in drug prevention.

Tomorrow is our 35th Annual Red Ribbon Run and Festival in partnership with the City of Hollister Parks & Recreation Department! Festivities will begin at 8am on Saturday at the Veterans’ Memorial Building in Downtown Hollister. Join the 3k fun run and stay for the fun!

🆓 Free 3K Fun Run for everyone (please wear red)
🎤 Featured speakers
🎶Entertainment including folklorico and hula
🎒The first 200 participants who check in at the event will receive a swag bag
🏅The first 200 participants who cross the finish line will receive a medal
🎁Raffle prizes every 15 minutes
💁Over a dozen local agencies with their own giveaways
🎨Art contest winners will be announced
🌮 Featuring local, small business food vendors
We look forward to seeing you at the family – and pet – friendly event!
📒Please note, the run is pet and stroller -friendly, but no scooters or bikes will be allowed please.
