This is how I would define my style of counseling. I am well versed in cognitive-behavioral therapy, as well as in motivational interviewing. I also believe that my 12 years of experience in the non-profit world has help me develop a style that is down to earth but focused on working with the skills that an individual already possess as well as developing the abilities they need to bring them to t

he level they want to achieve. My work on a crisis team during all those years have also help me develop skills to solve issues in the "here and now" while pointing out where other skills can/should be develop on the future. My experience is mostly with adults with specialties in crisis work, trauma, depression, anxiety, bipolar, anger management, substance use issues, criminal justice involvement. I am not only looking to do therapy, but also consultation and support of others therapists. I have worked with counselors in my field, as well as taught classes as well as state agencies. I have also supervised interns.

I just returned from an unforgettable birthday getaway to Wells, Maine, where I celebrated a major milestone: turning 50! The trip was a perfect blend of sun-kissed beaches, quality time with loved ones, a fantastic drag show and delicious birthday cake. None of it would've been possible without my incredible partner.
Here's to making my 50s the best decade yet!

One of my favorite summer activities is lawn care - being outdoors boosts my energy. Plus, I don't mind mowing the lawn; it's exercise and sunshine, what's not to love? My heart goes out to those with allergies, as I relate.

Last night, I lost a former colleague. I'm choosing to face my grief head-on, as I find it's the most constructive way to heal.
Out of respect, I won't share specifics for those who know me.
And for those I haven't met, rest assured I'm doing alright and that I recognize grief as an inevitable part of our journey.
