If everyday tasks feel harder after cancer treatment, illness, or neurological change—you are not alone.

Struggling with focus, energy, organization, or follow-through does not mean you’re lazy, weak, or failing.

Often, it means your brain is working harder just to keep up.

Understanding why this happens can be incredibly empowering—and it’s the first step toward getting the right support sooner.

I’m creating new resources to help survivors and care partners make sense of these changes. More details coming soon.

Sometimes the people who look the strongest are the ones carrying the heaviest unseen battles. As we enter this season of thankfulness, let’s be gentle, kind, and empathetic with one another.
'Thank God I don’t look like what I’ve been through' is a reminder that appearances can be deceiving.

Happy Thanksgiving, let’s always lead with love.

🌿 Thoughtful Thursday 🌿
Real healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. Whether you’re a survivor, caregiver, or healthcare professional, your values, culture, routines, and identity matter.

As an OT, I’m reminded daily that my job isn’t just to make tasks “safe”—it’s to honor the whole person in front of me. That means listening deeply, staying flexible, and finding solutions that fit your life.

Let’s continue building care that is clinically sound and deeply human. 💚

🌿 Thoughtful Thursday: Honoring the Whole Person in Care 🌿

Whether you’re supporting others as a healthcare professional or navigating your own healing journey, one thing is clear—care is not one-size-fits-all.

As an occupational therapist, I’m constantly reminded that real healing happens when we take the time to understand what matters most to the person in front of us—not just what’s “safe” or “functional” on paper.

🧠 That might mean adjusting how we support someone in preparing meals, respecting cultural routines, or understanding how fatigue or brain fog affects their day.
💬 It might mean asking better questions and truly listening—because someone’s values, habits, and culture shape how they heal and thrive.

Let’s keep pushing for care that’s not just clinically effective, but also deeply human.

📣 If you're a survivor, caregiver, or healthcare professional looking for more tools and conversations like this—drop a 💬 below or DM me. I’m building a community that believes healing and function go hand in hand.

Cognition matters. Function matters. OT connects the two.

So many daily struggles come from missed or subtle changes in how people process, plan, and problem-solve—and we can help earlier than most realize.

Curious how OT can better identify and treat cognitive changes?

Today we pause to honor all who have served—our Veterans who have shown courage, sacrifice, and resilience in ways that inspire us every day.

As clinicians, we’re reminded that healing doesn’t end when service does. It continues in the daily routines, the return to purpose, and the journey back to meaningful life.

Thank you to all Veterans for your service and for allowing us to walk beside you in that journey.

Recovery isn’t just about surviving — it’s about finding yourself again.

Recovery is rediscovery. 💗

Healing takes time, grace, and support — body, mind, and brain.

🧠 If we don’t address cognition, we’re missing half the story.

Cognitive changes—especially the subtle ones—affect everything from medication management to meal prep to driving safety. Yet so many go unrecognized because they’re “invisible.”

That’s why I created the Think Function Framework—to help OTs recognize and address cognitive changes with clarity and confidence.

✨ I’ll be sharing more in my upcoming FREE webinar:

🌟 Empathy is my superpower as an OT.

It’s more than “feeling sorry” for someone—it’s truly stepping into their shoes and seeing life through their perspective. That’s what allows us to give hope and create real solutions.

Even Jesus wept with Mary and Martha before doing the work He was called to do—that’s empathy in action.

💬 OTs, caregivers, friends—what’s one quality YOU rely on to help others?
