As a therapist for many years, I've found there can be great value in combining professionally-led group support with individual sessions.

From knowing you're not alone, to community connection and supportive accountability, the addition of a group can help speed healing and build new strategies and strength.

β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή For my fellow therapists, social workers, life coaches and other mental health professionals, I have new groups forming for:

> men dealing with s*xual compulsions and p**n addiction,
> and women who've been betrayed by their partners.

If those you're serving could benefit from focused, 6-week group sessions, and you'd like more information, please message me. Together we can make an even bigger difference -- please share with your networks. πŸ€—πŸ™

Most of us have go-to strategies to help relieve stress and generally boost our mental well-being.

What are yours? (Only the family-friendly ones here, please! πŸ˜‰)

Often people enter into marriage with the perspective of journeying through life, walking in step. We value all the ways we share the same point of view with our spouse.

Until one day we clash.

And when there's a next time, and then another, that can strain your beliefs... lead to doubts.

What if growing yourself and expanding your point of view was actually a valuable part of the journey?

What could it look like if you changed your perspective?

A supportive therapist can help you embrace your partner's whole self -- as well as your own -- and strengthen your relationship. This is one of the practices I value most. If you'd like help, send me a message or visit MarkHarol.com

πŸ˜‰ They're both right, of course. It's all a matter of perspective.

Where might you and your partner BOTH be right? How can you find common ground to build on?

πŸ‘‚It all starts with listening to gain understanding, rather than to find an opportunity to jump in and explain why you're right!

Sometimes that's easier when you have someone helping to guide the conversation.

That's just one positive outcome clients enjoy. Visit http://MarkHarol.com for more.

Listening isn't passive. It demands we be active, using all our senses to tune in to the full scope of what the other person is conveying.

If things ever start feeling off in your relationship, carve out time to be really present with your other half.

And get clear on how you're feeling too!

If lines of communication seem broken, don't be afraid to get help. An empathetic expert may be just what you need to learn new skills and get back in sync with each other. Visit us at https://markharol.com to learn more.

It's really human to want to feel good! Our brains are wired to want pleasure.

So our natural response to stress or trauma is to find ways to relieve or release our negative feelings and get a jolt of goodness.

But sometimes this can evolve into a negative cycle:

πŸ›’πŸ°πŸ· We binge on what makes us feel good, excited, wired, high or intoxicated;

😩 We feel the pain of withdrawal, dropping low with loss as "real" life returns, or even guilt or shame from having indulged (again);

πŸ˜“ We can't stop thinking about and anticipating our next time.

If life starts to revolve around your next pleasure hit, that's a sign it's time to develop new strategies! And you can.

I can help with online, in-person and/or group sessions. Visit https://markharol.com to learn more.

There's a sense of being out of control, vulnerable...

This fear of intimacy extends beyond their relationships with partners. It can be hard for them to form or maintain deep friendships with anyone.

The result: they feel increasing isolation.

Sometimes p**n use and compulsive s*xual behaviors, which start as a simple outlet for pleasure they're not getting in other ways, becomes a problem escape. It's easier than having to be vulnerable!

You can have strong moral values and exhibit caring thoughts and actions, and still grapple with this.

Healing begins when you recognize you're stuck in a loop, and get help to heal.

For online, in-person and/or group sessions, let's chat. Visit https://markharol.com to learn more.

10+ years ago, after a full-length career in the U.S. Air Force, I found my next purpose as a

therapist, helping people restore health to themselves and their relationships.

⛅️ Life presents us with opportunities to feel both hope and despair and everything in between.

** But there's no handbook for how to navigate our way through them! No one person who has all the answers.**

🌀 My work since embarking on this path has gradually zero'd in on helping people to find their own. To loosen the grip that compulsions and destructive emotions has on them. Helping people find strategies and take healthy action is my passion.

β˜€οΈYou can't change the past, but you CAN learn to release the blocks and compulsions that have got you to this point... and instead gain freedom for your life!

If I can be of service, through my virtual/in-person groups that bring accessible, affordable help to men and women... or through individual or couples sessions, I'm here for you.
