I have always wanted to be a nurse, followed in my momma's footsteps! Long Term Care is my true passion, it can be challenging at times, and they may not remember your name but will always remember how you made them feel. Our small bird aviary is a favorite stop for many of our elders—whether it’s listening to cheerful chirps, watching fluttering wings, or just enjoying a quiet moment of connection with nature.

✨ Fun fact: Studies show that animals can help reduce stress, ease feelings of loneliness, and boost overall mood in older adults. Sometimes, a little birdsong is just what the heart needs.

We think these feathered friends add a little extra joy to our home—and judging by the smiles, our elders agree 💛

"Meet Cynthia, a Registered Nurse with a passion for patient assessment and an eye to impact Quality Care in the post-acute care setting. She specializes as a Certified Resident Assessment Coordinator and finds joy in the nurse patient relationships she fosters at Holly Care Center. With 37 years of experience, she has a solid knowledge of nursing responsibilities and often shares this knowledge with her nursing colleagues through impromptu teaching when she works at the bedside. In her free time, she cares for her two King Charles Cavaliers named Gloria and Hallelujah, knits and travels to see her far flung family in France, Portland, Wichita and Colorado Springs."

Cynthia is not just a wealth of knowledge for her nursing colleagues; she often ensures that everyone is equipped with the skills needed for exceptional care and uses her wealth of knowledge to ensure accuracy in documentation.

🎶 Pandora Wrapped 2025: We’ve Got the Beat! 🎶
This year has been a musical journey at our facility, with over 500 hours of music on Pandora! We averaged an impressive 6-8 hours of tunes every day, bringing everything from classic hits to feel-good favorites into our lives. Music has truly been the soundtrack to our days, brightening our moments and lifting our spirits.

As we step into the new year, it's the perfect time to reflect on the unforgettable experiences we've had in 2025! 🎉 What an amazing journey it’s been, filled with thrilling outings, fun adventures, and significant accomplishments. We were so proud to announce that our NHA Amy has been named NHA of the Year by CHCA, and our hard work has resulted in a stellar 5-star CMS rating! 🌟 We also achieved 3rd place in Culture for our company, which is a testament to our incredible team!

A huge thank you to all the wonderful guests who brought their talents to our community, especially the musical performers from across Southeast Colorado and Kansas. We loved celebrating seasonal fun with the children from local schools, and seeing our staff actively engage in various community activities was truly heartwarming. Our elders created countless cherished memories this year with delightful outings, from bowling and movie trips to park visits and dining experiences.

Here's to celebrating the new friendships and the extraordinary moments we've shared this past year! We’re excited to see what 2026 has in store for us. Cheers to new adventures ahead! 🥳✨
