Warriors have been on my mind all night. As I prepare for my 6 am morning prayer with my prayer team, I wanted to share this prayer with all of you:
Heavenly Father,
We come to You with hearts full of love, lifting up the sickle cell warriors, Your beloved children, who face both remarkable advancements and profound challenges in their care. We pray they remain encouraged, knowing that no setback can diminish their worth in Your eyes. Give them the strength to persevere through every trial, and bless them with the resilience they need to continue this journey.
Lord, we ask You to cover them with Your protection and grant them miraculous breakthrough, miracles that propel treatments, cures, and better care for sickle cell disease. Touch the hearts and hands of the caregivers, the families who begin this journey at birth and continue it throughout their lives. Let them be filled with compassion, patience, and the assurance that they are doing Your work by caring for these warriors. Keep them from growing weary, and fill them with Your strength and grace.
Guide me, Lord, as we pursue this mission in Florida, something that is so needed yet so rare across the United States. Give me the wisdom, clarity, and boldness to serve these warriors in a way that honors Your will and brings hope to others.
We also remember the families who have lost loved ones to this disease. Please, Father, ease their suffering and heal their broken hearts. We ask for Your comfort to surround them, and for the light of their memories to live on through the work that is being done to bring change.
Father, sickle cell disease is the most common genetic disorder in the world, yet it suffers from the fewest resources and compassion. We know we can do better, and we seek Your guidance to help us rise to this challenge. Let the WORLD open its heart to the sickle cell warriors, and may we bring justice, care, and healing to them.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
– Isaiah 40:31
