Excuse my passion… but I couldn’t let Black History Month end without keeping it real.

The other night, I had the honor of speaking with an incredible group of women, members of and about heart health — and the conversation was raw, honest, and necessary.

We talked about the truths that don’t always make headlines:

💔Heart disease is still the #1 killer of women.
💔Black women are affected earlier, more aggressively, and too often silently.
💔High blood pressure, stress, diabetes, and delayed care are impacting our community every single day.
💔Many women are “functioning” through symptoms instead of recognizing warning signs.

We discussed knowing your numbers, advocating for yourself in medical spaces, and understanding that prevention doesn’t start when you’re sick 🤒 it starts NOW‼️

Health is not just personal. It’s generational. It’s cultural. It’s community work.

Thank you to the Heart Sistas, the JWO Foundation, and my wonderful friend for inviting me into such a powerful space to share, learn, and pour back into our community.

As Black History Month closes, let this be the reminder: protecting Black women’s hearts is part of protecting our legacy.

Pouring into my community fills me in ways money, titles, and applause never could. Every month that I partner with City Leaders the amazing team for impactful events like Black History Health Night hosted by my non Profit , it reminds me why service is my calling, not just my career.
