My heart goes out to the victim’s family—this is heartbreaking. But killing wildlife like this isn’t the answer. Please read the facts in this image: bears are losing habitat, and more human-bear encounters are inevitable unless we change our approach. This isn't making us safer from bears nor is it honoring the victim or his family. An 89 year-old man who goes walking in the woods, kinda indicates that he probably enjoyed and respected outdoors. # #

Here’s proof that young people do enjoy being outside. They will also explore and interact with the living world with curiosity when we give are present with them. Shout out to the parents and adults who spend time outdoors with our youth. While giving a gardening tour in the Food Forest/ Science Park at the Museum of Discovery and Science and the children were LOVING holding the monarch butterfly caterpillars 🐛.
