A new treatment option has provided relief for patients with Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE), a condition that makes it hard for patients to swallow.

"Dupixent is the first drug approved by the FDA that targets the inflammatory process in EoE," explained Broward County Gastroenterologist Ari Lamet DO, to WPLG Local 10 Healthcast Reporter Kristi Krueger. "It's also another option for those patients who have not responded to other treatments."

Meet the Leaders in Non-Surgical Weight Loss in South Florida

Dr. Mark Lamet

Dr. Mark Lamet graduated from State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine and completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland Ohio in 1984. He has been in clinical practice in Hollywood, Florida for the last 28 years. He is an assistant professor at Nova University School of Medicine. Dr. Lamet has a particular interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease and swallowing disorders and has conducted Clinical Research in these fields, authoring key landmark articles. Dr. Lamet practices state-of-the-art gastroenterology, is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and a Fellow in the American College of Gastroenterologists. He is the president and owner of The Center for Gastrointestinal Disorders.

Dr. Ari Lamet

Dr. Ari Lamet is the eldest son of Dr. Mark Lamet and has recently joined The Center for Gastrointestinal Disorders. Dr. Lamet graduated from Nova Southeastern University in 2009 and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Staten Island University Hospital in New York, where he also served as Chief Resident for the hospital’s training program. Dr. Lamet completed his gastroenterology fellowship at Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. Lamet specializes in managing patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. He continues to participate in research studies, most recently evaluating patients presenting to the hospital with Acute Cholangitis. We are extremely happy that Dr. Lamet has decided to return home to South Florida and join our team of health care providers.
