Funeral Director, Joanna Cadet, is one of our freshest faced members on the Fred Hunter’s team joining us this past January. However, Joanna’s 18 years of experience as a licensed Funeral Director in South Florida gives this Miami born native some serious clout in the business of serving her community.
Joanna begins her day with the Serenity Prayer and a commitment to serve incoming families with compassion and care. The meaningful moments are what it’s all about for Joanna. These moments come from the words and actions of appreciation shared with her from those she has served. A family who lost their son in a car accident continues to leave an impression on Joanna having shared a similar loss of her uncle at a young age. They shed tears together and have a bond that still keeps them in contact years later.
Church and Brunch for Joanna and her family on Sundays are a non-negotiable. While self-care with a good Netflix show are a close second to how Joanna enjoys her time away from the work she feels called to do.

Fred Hunter’s Downtown Ft. Lauderdale (DFL) office manager, Lorena Chacon, has been with the Fred Hunter’s Group for 6 years. Lorena handles all incoming and outgoing requests and scheduling at DFL located at 718 S. Federal HWY, Ft. Lauderdale 33316. Our team is so fortunate to have such a selfless contributor on our side. Lorena is originally from Costa Rica and has made South Florida her home for 13 years now. Lorena finds the most joy in helping families find comfort and allowing them to grieve with dignity while we do the necessary work that involves caring for their loved ones. Lorena shows up authentically everyday and provides an organic and relatable connection while guiding people through difficult times.
