To live a life apart from the fruit of the Holy Spirit- love, joy , peace , faithfulness,gentleness ,goodness, kindness, patience, self-control will ignite my old nature, a wicked heart that will spew selfishness, self- centeredness, self -seeking, stepping on the toes of others without giving it a second thought of how I can hurt them ! This invites disaster in my life; in contrast with my new nature, a heart of flesh , the gift of being reborn , it is written through Jesus Christ ,to take refuge in death, doing my best to honor my Lord, anticipating the day He welcomes and receives me into His Arms….. wow how amazing is this ! Make today count!

What am I pretending not to know based upon the evidence of my past? When I look back at my past, I don’t have to look to far back, as I can look to yesterday, or even 5 minutes ago, in how I take back control from God, to do my will instead of His will for my life. The distractions of the events in the world , the distractions of those I try to convince of truth , common sense, and trying to reach an unrealistic bar of expectation, that I wasn’t meant to reach, desiring to be accepted and appreciated by others, that even if the bar was reached, still it would never be enough, consume and drain my soul …… ohhh but not with the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You Lord that you have said to me if I’m heavy laden,as Crucifixion Friday and Resurrection Sunday approaches , inviting me to come to You, for your burden is light and your yoke is easy, gives me your peace which surpasses all desires to satisfy others and be accepted and loved by You is more than enough …. New day new opportunities. Make today count!
