Many people frequently ask whether they’ll be able to bend their toes after undergoing toe shortening surgery. The short answer is yes, you will still have the ability to bend your toes. However, it’s important to note that there may be some limitations in the range of motion. We are altering something that was naturally functioning, so some reduction in movement is expected. To be clear, we do not perform toe fusions during this surgery. In some cases, depending on your specific condition, we may need to release certain tendons to help the toes relax in order to properly correct the deformity.💫
Muchas personas suelen preguntar si podrán doblar los dedos de los pies después de una cirugía de acortamiento de los mismos. La respuesta breve es que sí, aún podrán mover y doblar los dedos. Sin embargo, es importante tener en cuenta que puede haber algunas limitaciones en el rango de movimiento. Estamos modificando algo que funcionaba de manera natural, por lo que se puede esperar una leve reducción en la movilidad. Para que quede claro, no realizamos fusiones de los dedos durante esta cirugía. En algunos casos, dependiendo de su condición específica, puede ser necesario liberar ciertos tendones para que los dedos se relajen y así poder corregir adecuadamente la deformidad.💫
