Memorial Healthcare System’s Medical Assistant Academy is an excellent way for you to build a career in patient care, without previous healthcare experience. Provided to all newly-hired MHS Medical Assistants, this 6-month, full-time program offers valuable hands-on training in our unique Simulation Lab. At Memorial Healthcare System, we’re proud to partner with Broward County Public Schools and Arc Broward to deliver the MHS Work-Based Learning Program. This program provides real-world job exposure to exceptional-needs young adults who have deferred their high school diplomas. Students gain hands-on experience in a variety of MHS departments, including FNS, Supply Chain, EVS, Pharmacy and more.

With the support and guidance of instructors and coaches, students can explore healthcare careers while providing MHS with a strong pipeline of trained workers. Learn more about this important program. "The WBLE program was the best thing that could've happened to me,” says program participant, Chanler Paulakos. “It provided the stepping stones I needed to obtain a career that is actually maintainable for me. I would've struggled to be interviewed without this program, and my utmost gratitude goes to everyone involved."
