What is Camellia Oil?
Camellia oil is also commonly known as tea seed oil, as it is the essential oil from the seeds of the tea plant. While the leaves of the tea plant are commonly dried to produce tea, the seeds can also undergo a cold-pressing or solvent extraction process to extract the concentrated oil. Thus, camellia oil benefits from many of the same antioxidant compounds as tea, but also has an extremely high level of unsaturated fats, as well as other minerals and nutrients. This oil is widely used in Asia but has increased in availability around the rest of the world.

This potent oil can be made from the Camellia sinensis plant or the Camellia oleifera plant, whereas Japanese tea oil is made from Camellia japonica and has significantly different attributes. The oil has a light green color and a mild smell, but it isn’t used as cooking oil, due to its bland flavor and relatively high cost.

GET ENOUGH FIBER

Diets high in fiber help lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease. Fiber has also been shown to prevent colon and other cancers. In general, populations that consume high fiber diets have fewer hospital stays and less disease. Make fiber a part of all your meals. Fiber, or “Roughage” is found almost exclusively in plant foods-vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains, nuts, and seeds. Beans, lentils, peas, corn, prunes, blackberries, raspberries and blueberries are exceptionally rich in fiber. Avoid wheat and oat bran fiber if you are gluten intolerant. Remember that processed foods lack fiber and cooking vegetables and fruit to the point of being mushy destroys much of their fiber.

Fiber has other benefits too: It binds with toxins and excess hormones and waste and helps neutralize them before they cause bodily damage. It also adds bulk to the stool, which assists in maintaining regular bowel function. Without enough fiber, you can experience constipation, which is a contributing factor in many diseases.

CARBONATED BEVERAGES

In the carbonation process, phosphorous levels in beverages increase significantly. If you regularly drink soda, you will upset the mineral balance in your body if your body doesn’t have enough calcium to buffer higher phosphorus intake, it will “Borrow’ or leach, calcium wherever it can be found – from muscles and bones.

The net result can be a gradual weakening of bone structure, contributing to osteoporosis. Furthermore, HFCS content in carbonated sodas is proving to be lethal, and diet sodas with aspartame or other artificial sweeteners aren’t much better. CAFFEINATED BEVERAGES

Coffee, black tea, colas and energy drinks are powerful stimulants that can over stress the body in many ways. They diminish sleep quality and deplete nutrients such as vitamin B1, biotin, inositol, vitamin C, calcium, potassium, and zinc. Caffeine also increases thirst and appetite; over stimulates and weakens the kidneys, pancreas, liver, stomach, intestines, heart, nervous system and glands – ESPECIALLY the Adrenals!

Additionally caffeine over-acidifies the body’s PH, which is a serious factor in premature aging. Coffee is laced with pesticides and free radical producing hydrocarbons that weaken cell membranes. Studies show individuals who drink the most coffee often suffer chronic depression, insomnia, gout, arrhythmia, high cholesterol, bone thinning, infertility and fibrocystic problems. What’s more, a small amount of coffee can set off those negative effects.

ASPARTAME (NUTRASWEET) AND OTHER SWEETENERS

Aspartame is two hundred times sweeter than sugar. It increases the appetite in general and the desire for sweets in particular. In some people it is highly addictive. Incredibly, aspartame accounts for 75 percent of all non-drug complaints to the FDA, including for headache, fatigue, and mood problems.

Aspartame use is associated with both overweight and diabetes. Avoid all other sweeteners too. Saccharin is associated with cancer and agave is contaminated and sweeter than sugar. Basically, avoid sweets.
