6 wild & crazy years 🥂

Yep, we are celebrating our 6yr anniversary in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷

Stephen planned this trip for us to have happened back in January Butttttt we got Covid and decided to postpone our trip till our anniversary. Right in the center of hurricane season 🌧

Oh the timing… but such as life itself- a constant interruption to your plans and an open invitation to adjust to the curve balls, reminding us to be adaptable.

One thing I have come to realize about us the longer we’ve been married is that, (especially Stephen 😅) we like to plan out everything, and SOMETIMES we pull it off. But other times we resort to plan B. And we do it without sulking or getting hung up on what was “supposed to happen”. We adapt, we are resilient and we make the most of the unexpected, the unfortunate and the inconvenient. And that is one of the many things I love about our marriage ❤️

Its only a matter of time ⏰

Hair thinning often takes up to six months to become noticeable, and is generally genetically predetermined. 🧬

In some cases, it’s either hormonal or hereditary.

Women tent to experience a widening in their part and thinning patches. 🙆‍♀️

Men see thinning along the hairline and on the crown of the head. 👑

1. Poor blood flow to the hair follicles.
2. Hormones

✨How often will I need to come back?! Reapplication appointment are required every 4-12 weeks depending on texture, speed of hair growth, home care and more.

✨Are the follow up appointments as long as the initial appointment? Not usually - maintenance appointments are generally about 1-2 hours ⁠⁠

✨How long will my extensions last? With proper care, your new hair can be expected to last about 6-9 months.⁠⁠

Let’s get real!

In a day and age where we have access to thousands of hair photos at the tap of a finger, here’s 5 reasons why you should go easy on your hairstylist and be realistic about your hair goals:⁠⁠
⁠⁠
1️⃣ PHOTOSHOP. Many, and I mean MANY of the hair photos you bring in have been highly photoshopped! We can only achieve so much but have to keep it real when something is unrealistic!⁠⁠
2️⃣ WIGS. Believe it or not, a lot of photos brought in to me are actually wigs/ extensions. If a celeb is wearing a wig, it’s probably because even they couldn’t get their dream hair in a healthy and manageable way.⁠⁠
3️⃣HAIR TYPE. Every single hair type is different. If you find a photo with coarse hair and want your fine hair done that way, the appearance and technique will differ. Just because your friend got their hair done just how you want doesn’t guarantee yours will turn out the same.⁠⁠
4️⃣ TIMING. You may not be aware of the amount of time a project can take, so be sure to send inspo photos ahead if you’re ready for a change. This way your stylist can mark out plenty of time to work toward your goal!⁠⁠
5️⃣BASE COLOR. Whatever hair color you walk in with plays a huge role in achieving your inspo hair. Finding a photo that has close to your own hair base will always help you find a more realist hair goal! Anything else may be less achievable or take more time and sessions..⁠

I'M BACK! Today is my first day back on social media (in 39 weeks!) since my last post.⁠⁠

Have you ever been in a situation that was so hard… that you wondered if you would be ok?

If I can be completely candid with you, I was struggling for a bit. After the loss of my father, becoming a family of four and get back to “normal” post pandemic, I felt utterly and completely lost.. I knew I couldn’t show up for my audience in that state.

I started feeling like social media was an obligation. So I quit for nearly a year!

I’ve learned that feeling passionate and fulfilled and ALIVE is about doing more of the right things that feed your soul.

It’s all a working progress but I am so excited to be back and to catch up with all of you. ⁠⁠

If I had a nickel for every time a women told me she didn’t want to trim her hair because she was “growing it out”.... I’d have a pretty substantial nickel collection.

Here’s the deal, you’ve probably heard the rule that every hair appointment should include a trim or a treatment... Well, even with a treatment, it doesn’t mean to forgo the trims! You WILL experience split ends, breakage, and by the time you consent to dealing with it, you’ll have to cut off a LOT more than you want to! Take it from me, the hairstylist who didn’t cut her hair for over a year.

Ok, maybe I’m being a little dramatic, but as your hired professional, it’s my priority to do the job you’re paying me for, Which is to take care of your hair! So let’s trim those ends, make the grow-out a little less painful and with the addition of some tape-in hair extensions I promise you’ll see even more healthy growth then you’ve seen in the last six months of not cutting it! So if you didn’t give your hair the love that it deserved in 2020, I forgive you (it was rough for us all!), but there’s no time like the present to start prioritizing your hair!

I’ll never forget the day I suddenly saw my scalp and noticed I was LOSING MY HAIR😱

It was like it happened over night! If you know me, I’ve always had long, thickish type of hair. My hair was my identity! Then I gave birth and that all changed. I know a lot of you mommas know what I’m talking about. 🙋‍♀️

Want to know My top three tips to better hair that you can do while you sleep?

Get a satin or silk pillowcase- this will help keep your hair from getting those tangles and knots. (Less friction)

The night bun- throw your hair in a loose bun with a scrunchy to prevent tangles.

Use dry shampoo before you go to sleep- What?! When you spray dry shampoo in your hair before you go to bed, it is able to absorb the oils right away that your scalp produces overnight.
