At Community Playroom, we love turning play into meaningful moments, and memory games are a perfect way to do just that!

One of our go-to games this summer has been Seekaboo- a playful matching game that invites little learners to search, find, and match picture cards. Whether it’s a banana or a ball, every discovery is a mini celebration! 🎉

🧠 Memory games like Seek-a-Boo are more than just fun — they help toddlers:
• Strengthen focus and attention
• Boost visual recognition
• Sharpen memory and recall
• Build vocabulary through picture association

But perhaps the sweetest part? Learning how to cheer each other on. 💛 Games like these are a great way to practice patience, encouragement, and the joy of celebrating our friends’ wins, big or small!

We love reflecting on the children’s growth and development! This month’s
“student spotlight” is about our wonderful “Little Olivia” 💗

Amazingly, when Olivia joined Community Playroom, she was 1 of 3 Olivias in her playgroup. As the tiniest one, she became lovingly known as our “Little Olivia”. From the start, she was very quiet, but also wonderfully observant and incredibly focused on her play choices.

Olivia’s disposition has remained quiet, but she quickly became a role model for peers. Her observational skills and focus became a foundation for her success, and she is tremendously independent for young child.

In the words of Olivia’s mommy, “My memories of Olivia from the playroom are PURE JOY. Every week she looked forward to coming to Miss Laura’s playroom where she could create new things, play with different toys and learn new things. Olivia joined the playroom at 20 months old with just a few words and left speaking in full sentences … People are often commenting on how bright Olivia is, and you have played a role in her growth.”

We are SO proud of you, Olivia! We are thrilled to have you back for “Summer Fun”, and SO pleased to now welcome your little sister too! 💗

Hands down, the most challenging 2 years were when we first returned to the US, and I was almost fully alone with 2 young children.   I didn’t realize how much I needed to be in a community of other likeminded caregivers until I found it. Almost immediately, all 3 of us were happier!

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or lonely, please come join us! In Community Playroom, everyone - children and caregivers alike! - is lovingly supported.

Another year of learning and growing together has come to a close. Last week past and present families of Community Playroom gathered for our annual Community Day!

Every member of Community Playroom has helped to shape the playroom into what it is today — not just a space to play, but a true community where little ones grow and “big ones” can find connection and support!
