Today we’re celebrating an incredible milestone for one of our most cherished residents — Leonard is turning 104! 🇺🇸💙

A proud World War II veteran, Leonard has lived a life full of courage, resilience, and kindness. Alongside his wonderful girlfriend Betty, he continues to inspire everyone at Great Lakes with his warmth, wisdom, and appreciation for the community around him.

Leonard and Betty both love the friendly neighbors, caring staff, and the fun-filled activities that keep them busy and smiling every day. We are so lucky to have them as part of our Great Lakes family!

This past week, we fired up the grill and brought out the fake axes for our Great Lakes Staff Summer Cookout — and what a blast it was! From delicious food to friendly competition, laughter filled the air as team members gathered for an afternoon of fun and connection.

There were games galore (yes, even some safe and silly axe throwing), heaping plates of good eats, and a whole lot of appreciation for the amazing staff who make Great Lakes feel like home every day.
