Our Island Nursing and Rehab Center residents and staff proudly lit the torch to kick off the Gurwin Olympics last Thursday!

The celebration began with long-time Island Nursing and Rehab Center resident and Resident Council President Thomas Caleca, a 1992 Paralympian who competed in men’s sitting volleyball in Barcelona—an inspiring start to an unforgettable event.

The torch was then carried by Audrey Marchand, Vice President and Administrator of Island Nursing and Rehab Center, traveling to Gurwin’s 36-acre main campus in Commack to officially launch the games. Let the Olympics begin!
