On November 12, Saint Mary Home -- THSC's skilled nursing community in West Hartford, CT -- celebrated being the home of this quarter's DAISY Award Winner! Licensed Practical Nurse Janet Morttey was selected as an "extraordinary nurse" based on her strong work ethic, genuine care for her residents, and consistent "can-do" attitude. At the Award Ceremony, Ingrid Montanez, LPN, and seven other clinical caregivers were recognized as Saint Mary Home DAISY Award nominees for the past quarter.

Our Remembrance Day at Beaven Kelly Home, a Trinity Health Senior Community located in Holyoke, MA, was marked with meaningful moments, prayers of gratitude, songs, stories and distribution of thank you gifts to our 11 veterans.

The team at Beaven Kelly Home in Holyoke, MA took time to honor their Spiritual Care Coordinator Carol Smith in a special way during Spiritual Care Week. They brought Carol beautiful flowers and paper leaves that had messages both from colleagues and residents telling her how grateful they were to have her at Beaven Kelly Home.

Trinity Health Senior Communities proudly celebrates this, the 40th or "ruby" anniversary of Spiritual Care Week. We recognize and thank our chaplains and all who serve our Mission through the art of chaplaincy, described so beautifully by St. Gregory:
"The scope of our art is to provide the soul with wings -- to rescue it from the world and give it to God, to watch over that which is in His image. If it abides, to take it by the hand. If it is in danger, to restore it. If ruined, to make Christ dwell in their heart by the Spirit. In short, it is to deify and bestow heavenly bliss upon one who belongs to the heavenly hosts."
