Congratulations to John Wood III who has worked hand in hand with our educators and supported not only their code enforcement efforts but also their community risk reduction efforts! Tonight, some of our members joined Springfield Emergency Communications and Springfield Fire and Emergency Services at the Annual Hometown Heroes Hockey Game. This wonderful collaboration allowed us to share important fire and life safety information with the community.
We talked about community helpers, home escape planning, cooking safety, and the proper use and disposal of lithium-ion batteries to help prevent fires. Springfield Emergency Communications discussed how and when to call 9-1-1 and shared important updates in emergency communication technology.
Together, we had the opportunity to interact with thousands of individuals, making this event both meaningful and impactful.

Some of our members recently participated in a free Scam Prevention and Safety event! Along with learning how to protect themselves from fraud and scams, participants also received valuable information on winter safety, safe cooking practices, and lithium-ion battery safety. The event focused on practical tips to help keep everyone informed, prepared, and safe.

Thanks to Barbara from Boston Children’s Hospital Injury Prevention! She spent the last two days educating children and their families during their visit to the booth. If you haven’t visited us yet, there are still two more days to stop by, and learn about fire and life safety.

Our members are excited that they still have three more days to help you create a home escape plan, or share information about how working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms save lives! They can also provide information about proper disposal of smoking materials, safe home oxygen use, cooking safety and answer many other questions! We hope you stop by and visit us in the Massachusetts Building!

Our members have continued to educate fair visitors on lithium ion battery safety, working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, home escape planning and safe smoking, including proper disposal and home oxygen safety!
