In December 1950, this room held residents gathered together as children arrived to sing Christmas carols.
Seventy-plus years later, we recreated this moment with today’s residents and staff standing in the very same place.

The faces have changed.
The heart has not ❤️

This home has always been about presence. Sitting together. Being known. Sharing the season side by side 🎄

We loved welcoming a crocheting instructor into Sarawood for a hands on afternoon of stitching, learning, and laughter. Residents worked at their own pace, shared tips, and enjoyed the simple joy of creating something with their hands.

Throwback Thursday at Sarawood 🍎🎃

Looking back at one of our favorite outings from this fall. We bundled up and headed to McCray’s Farm for a day of apple and pumpkin picking. The cold breeze did not slow anyone down. The smiles, the chatter, and the hunt for the perfect pumpkin kept everyone moving.

We loved watching our residents take their time in the field, pointing out pumpkins, soaking in the sunshine, and enjoying the simple joy of being outdoors together. Days like this bring our community closer. They also remind me how much these shared moments matter.

We are already talking about where our next adventure should be.

There is something special in the room when our therapy dogs visit. You see faces brighten. You hear the laughter start. You feel everyone settle into the moment 🐾❤️

These visits give our residents comfort, connection, and a reason to smile. As a caregiver, I see the effect right away. A gentle paw or a warm nuzzle brings out stories, memories, and a sense of ease you cannot fake. Moments like these support emotional wellbeing in a way nothing else does.
