Now with our new integrated behavioral health services, you can access counseling and care coordination for truly comprehensive women’s care. From your first exam to post-menopause care, and every milestone in between, our team supports you.

From the early days of a small public health center to the full-service hospital we are today, their impact is woven into every chapter of our story.

Today, South Peninsula Hospital employees wore denim to show our support for survivors of sexual assault. Here in Alaska, we are painfully familiar with the realities of sexual violence: our state continues to have some of the highest rates in the nation. But there are not just statistics: they are people. They are our neighbors, friends, children, and members of our community.

This year, Denim Day is dedicated to someone whose life and loss deeply touched our community: Brianna Hetrick. Brianna was known by those who loved her as someone full of energy and joy, someone whose smile and laughter had a way of lifting the people around her. We honor her life not only by remembering the tragedy that took her from us but by carrying forward the values of compassion, courage, and justice. Her light lives on in the people who loved her, in the community that remembers her, and in the commitment we share to stand up against violence.

Wellness Wednesdays are now on pause for the summer, but we're excited to extend the midweek mindfulness with a free yoga class on Thursdays in May at the SPARC! Led by Lakshmi Kanter, this therapeutic yoga series is meant to reduce stress, relax, and manage your energy. Mats are provided, and all are welcome. We hope to see you there!

South Peninsula Hospital’s Operations Board of Directors is made up of local residents who provide governance and direction for your community hospital. Meetings are held monthly and are open to the public.

The next meeting is tomorrow, April 29th at 6:30pm in the hospital’s conference room (accessible via Entrance B on the lower level) and also available via Zoom.

We’ve heard your feedback, and we’ve made a change. To make your next visit smoother, we’ve updated our check-in process:
The reception window is now dedicated to Emergency Room and Labor & Delivery patients only.
If you’re here for a scheduled visit or appointment at surgery, imaging or laboratory, please check in at one of the registration offices on the north side of the waiting room near the Gift Shop.
This change is designed to reduce wait times, streamline your experience, and get you to where you need to go faster. Thank you for speaking up and helping us improve your care experience.
