The HPV vaccine protects against cancers related to the common human papillomavirus, including cervical cancer and other diseases.

This safe and effective vaccine is recommended with regular childhood immunization at ages 9-11, but if you didn’t get it then there’s still time to protect yourself! Vaccination is still recommended up to age 26. Ask your doctor or call KBFPC at 907-235-3436 to learn more about your options.

Did you know cervical cancer has two✌️different tests for early detection? Pap and HPV (human papillomavirus) tests are often done at the same time, but not always! Talk to your doctor about what’s recommended for you, and get your cervical screening done regularly.

Call the clinic at 907-235-3436 to schedule your Annual Wellness Visit + cervical cancer screening today!

ID: Multi-color graphic with information about Tests for Early Warning over the shape of the female reproductive organs: “A Pap test looks for abnormal cells. If needed, these can be treated or removed before they become cancerous. An HPV test looks for high-risk HPV that can cause abnormal cells and lets your healthcare provider monitor you more closely for cell changes.” Inspired by the GW Cancer Center’s Training & Technical Assistance Program with a teal awareness ribbon for Cervical Cancer Awareness Month in January.

Accidents happen, but emergency contraception (EC) can help! Swipe to learn about how EC works, when it won’t work, and the importance of timing. ⏰ (Hint: use it as soon as possible!)

Have more questions or need EC? Call the clinic at 907-235-3436 to learn more! Available on our sliding fee scale.

ID: slides with repeating graphics of pills and IUDs, a clock, and text: “Emergency Contraception (EC) Timing Matters: Called ‘emergency’ contraception because it is used after unprotected s*x to prevent pregnancy. Works by delaying ovulation (the release of an egg from the o***y, around day 14 or the midway point of your cycle). If you have already ovulated then EC will not work. Use EC as soon as possible after unprotected s*x. Best within 24 hours, some EC methods can be used up to 3-5 days after s*x. S***m remains in the body for up to 5 days. EC does not end a pregnancy.”
