We are excited to introduce Marianne Odell as the new Executive Director of the Elizabeth Brewster House.
Marianne brings many years of leadership experience in human services and a strong commitment to supporting people and strengthening communities. Throughout her career, she has focused on ensuring individuals receive respectful, high-quality care while building strong teams and partnerships.
Marianne believes strongly in creating environments where people feel respected, valued, and have a true sense of belonging. We are excited to have her join the Brewster House community and look forward to her leadership as we continue supporting the residents and families we serve.

The story of the Elizabeth Brewster House began with the vision of one woman.
In 1891, Mrs. Brewster, a charitable resident of Cortland County, urged that an organization be formed to support women in need of a home. From that effort, the Cortland County Home for Aged Women was established with a clear purpose: to found, promote, and maintain a home for older women.
More than a century later, that vision continues to guide the Elizabeth Brewster House. What began as a community effort to provide safety, dignity, and care for older women has grown into a place where older adults can live with support, connection, and respect.
During Women’s History Month, we recognize Mrs. Brewster and the many women throughout our history whose compassion and leadership helped build and sustain this home for generations.
Their legacy lives on every day within the walls of the Elizabeth Brewster House.

The Elizabeth Brewster House, Inc. is located on Main Street in the picturesque, historic and quaint village of Homer, nestled between Phillips Free Library and the volunteer fire department. Homer is located just two miles north of Cortland in the "heart" of New York State. Tourists and locals refer to Cortland County New York as the Eastern Gateway to the pristine Finger Lakes Region offering postcard-like beauty and enjoyment year round. Residents of Elizabeth Brewster House (EBH), as we are affectionately known, are welcome to partake and benefit fully from all that the area's four seasons have to offer. Elizabeth Brewster House is licensed and certified as an Adult Home by the New York State Department of Health and operates on a private pay non-profit basis under the guidance of the Board of Managers and the Board of Trustees.
