Triniti was born on April 28, 2016. Shortly after she was delivered, Trinitiās mom, Tami, had a feeling that something wasnāt right. Triniti was soon admitted to the NICU for further evaluation. During this time, Triniti was diagnosed with two heart conditions ā partial anomalous pulmonary venous return (PAPVR) and congenital diaphragmatic hernia, a serious and sometimes life-threatening combination. It was also discovered that Triniti has a small hole in her heart and only one functioning lung. Despite the challenges, however, Tami says Triniti was a fighter from the start
Triniti spend a total of 321 days in the hospital and was finally discharged from the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) at Advocate Childrenās Hospital in Oak Lawn in November 2017. While Triniti has faced many obstacles throughout the last 9 years, she continues to overcome them and has grown stronger each year. Today, Triniti is preparing for 4th grade and loves cheerleading, spending time with friends and just being a typical kid.
As a big Chicago Cubs fan, Triniti loves watching every game she can with her family ā a tradition that started during her time in the NICU when the Cubs played in the 2016 World Series. Triniti received a special Cubs World Series onesie and wore it whenever the Cubs played. Watching the games together provided them with some much-needed comfort and joy and a sense of normalcy during an otherwise uncertain time.
Triniti had the ultimate VIP experience serving as Advocate Health Careās honorary Cubs bat kid! She and her family enjoyed on-field access before the game and got to spend time in the dugout during batting practice. She also received a custom Cubs jersey and a baseball for players to sign and had the chance to meet and interact with some of her favorite players. š
