The Bell Center for Early Intervention Programs

The Bell Center for Early Intervention Programs The Bell Center is dedicated to maximizing the potential of children birth to three years of age who

The Bell Center offers services following a complete developmental evaluation, often within a few days or weeks after birth. However, older children exhibiting delays can be evaluated up to their third birthday. And while services are provided to the child, the whole family benefits from The Bell Center's holistic approach. This approach features transdisciplinary teams which include physical therapy, occupational therapy, a speech-language pathologist, and and an early childhood special education teacher. Each child works with the team to achieve individual developmental goals. The Bell Center is a completely privately funded 501(c)3 non-profit organization. While families pay a modest tuition for their child to attend the programs, the bulk of The Bell Center's budget is made through grants, contributions, and numerous special events.

This month, one of our physical therapists, Holley Steele, attended a 16 hour course in Atlanta on NISE-STIM with developer and PT Gerti Motavalli. Nise-stim is Non-Invasive Spinal Electrical Stimulation that can increase sensation, muscle activation, and overall function. It is often used in children with a diagnosis of spina bifida, SMA, or cerebral palsy. It helps improve symmetry of movement and can carry over to new motor functions.
