May is Maternal Mental Health Month and Wednesday was World Maternal Health Day. Research shows that perinatal mental health disorders affect nearly one million people every year and experts say that only 25% of them receive treatment.
We want to bring awareness to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health in Alabama and help support women and families in finding the services they need and deserve!

We have opened our Nurturing Roots Scholarship Application and are accepting applications!

What is our nurturing root scholarship you might ask? Mills Perinatal wellness group started a donation fund earlier this year, where individuals in our community as well as state can donate to support under privileged mothers, who may be uninsured, and give them access to free or low-cost therapy.

These donations offset or fully cover the cost of therapy sessions for mothers, families or couples up to 6 months of therapy services.

This scholarship has the ability to cover 80%-100% of the cost of treatment.

If you or anyone you know could benefit greatly from this type of service please do not hesitate to reach out. The application can be found on our website under “Nurturing Roots Scholarship” tab. Once they complete the application we will reach out to them and services will commence the first week of May.

This Sunday we will be hosting a free support group for those affected by the Supreme Court ruling for IVF. It will be this Sunday at 3pm both in person and virtually. Email aaron@millsperinatalwellnessgroup.com for the address and the virtual link!

Here are the dates for the next 4 months of therapy groups!! 🥳… woo hoo!! Some of these groups are in person and some are virtual! The in person groups will be held at our new office in Highland Park! Once the weather starts to warm up we will be announcing new and exciting events and activities coming your way!!

One of our values here at Mills Perinatal Wellness Group is affordability. We are now contracted with these insurance panels and will be adding more to the list by Spring 2024.

Our groups are back in full swing!! We have 2 groups running this month! We have our caregivers of disabled children group (Jan 30th 6pm) and our postpartum group (Jan 16th 5:30pm and 20th 9:30am).
