As I prepare for the holiday, I am reminded of the difference between "being valuable" and "being valued". I WILL NOT pay $170 for a pair of gym shoes, not because they aren't valuable, but because I don't value gym shoes in that way.
According to ChatGPT: Being VALUABLE means you have inherent worth, strengths, qualities, skills, or character traits that make you important, capable, and unique- regardless of who notices. Being VALUED means others recognize, appreciate and affirm your worth.
Sometimes you're only "valuable" to people when you give your YES- or when you have, give or do something that benefits them. Be mindful of those relationships. Pour into spaces where you're VALUED, and not just because of your YES.
