The Hawaiʻi Early Childhood Education (ECE) Stipend Program is now accepting applications for spring term through December 1st.

If you’re working toward your ECE certificate or degree through the University of Hawaiʻi system, you may qualify for tuition support to help you reach your goals and become qualified to work in pre-K early learning settings.

✅ Covers tuition for ECE certificates & degrees
✅ Must be enrolled (or applying) in an eligible UH ECE program
✅ Includes a 2-year work commitment in a qualifying pre-K setting after graduation

UPDATE: Kōkua Food Drive has been extended to November 14.

From November 3–7, the State of Hawai‘i is partnering with the Hawai‘i State Public Library System for the Kōkua Food Drive, supporting local food banks during the federal shutdown and SNAP disruptions.

How to Help:
Bring canned goods and nonperishable items to your local library during regular hours. Please note: our Kāne‘ohe and Wahiawā branches will not accept donations due to limited space and the Lāhainā location is closed.

All donations will go to the Hawai‘i Foodbank, Maui Food Bank, The Food Basket, and partner agencies to help families in need.

Because of the federal government shutdown, SNAP (food stamp) benefits are temporarily paused for November but help is available. The State of Hawaiʻi has launched the Hawaiʻi Relief Program to support families who may be struggling with food, housing, or utility costs during this time.
