While over-the-counter sleep aids might help you fall asleep in the short term, they often come with serious drawbacks.

They can disrupt your natural sleep cycle, leaving you feeling groggy the next day. Plus, they don’t address the underlying causes of your sleep issues—like hormonal imbalances or chronic stress—which means the problem keeps coming back. Over time, your body can build a tolerance to sleep aids, requiring higher doses for the same effect. This can lead to increased dependency and a reduced effectiveness, making it harder to achieve restful sleep naturally

Instead of just masking your symptoms, focus on finding out what’s actually causing your insomnia. Is it an imbalance in hormones like cortisol or progesterone? Is it your gut health, which plays a huge role in sleep quality? Or is it the constant stress that’s keeping you wired and restless?

The constant influx of information, comparisons, and unrealistic portrayals of life on social media can leave you feeling anxious, inadequate, and mentally drained. We've seen the profound impact social media can have on emotional health, from comparison anxiety to digital burnout.

Here are 3 actionable steps to protect your mental health while staying connected:

📲 Set Time Limits: Track your screen time and set daily limits to avoid mindless scrolling. Research shows that overexposure to social media can elevate cortisol (the stress hormone), making you feel on edge. Take breaks to reset and focus on real-life interactions.
📲 Curate Your Feed: Follow accounts that inspire and uplift you. Unfollow or mute accounts that trigger comparison or negative emotions.
📲 Practice Digital Detoxes: Take regular breaks from social media to recharge. Whether it’s a few hours, a day, or a weekend offline, disconnecting helps reset your brain and lowers stress.

By being mindful of how much time you spend on social media and who you follow, you can protect your emotional health while still benefiting from online connections.
