I was hesitant about PRP for capsular contraction. I also had fluid around my implants that were making one breast very large and disfigured. The results were immediate in appearance and how they felt. I had been told by two other plastic surgeons my only options were removal and reconstruction or complete replacement. From Detroit to Honolulu, my journey in medicine started with a dream of a lifelong career in service. Born under the sign of Seagram’s 7 Crown, I entered med school with 10 years of active and reserve time in the U.S. Army already under my belt. Passing up Yale’s offer for my intern year, I chose to be stationed at Tripler Medical Center in Honolulu, fully expecting to be a “lifer.”
