Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day 🦋

It is a day to acknowledge and honor pregnancies that did not result in a live birth and infants who died, including:
- Miscarriage
- Ectopic pregnancy
- Stillbirth
- Neonatal loss
- SIDS and other infant deaths
- Observed in many countries with advocacy and remembrance activities, often on the same date each year (varies by country and organization).

Pregnancy and infant loss is the heartbreak of lives that began with hope and love but didn’t unfold as expected. This day honors those pregnancies and babies, supports families in their grief, and raises awareness to reduce stigma and unite communities in empathy, remembrance, and healing. 💕

Yes, only 9 days left until the next grant deadline (Sept 4). This IS the time to be finishing up your application and collecting the medical form from your doctor to upload.
We DO NOT recommend starting a new application at this time. We do not provide refunds for the application fee and it is very hard to complete all 17 sections in such a short time period. Mainly, the medical evaluation form completed by your physician can take a couple weeks to get returned to you. Don't worry, we do have another grant cycle with a deadline in mid-March 2026.
Best of luck to the applicants! We look forward to reading all of the submitted applications!

Surrogacy can be:

Compensated: The surrogate is paid for her time and effort, in addition to having medical and related expenses covered.

Altruistic: The surrogate volunteers, often for a friend or family member, without receiving financial compensation beyond medical costs.

Surrogacy is used by:
1. Couples struggling with infertility
2. Same-sex couples
3. Single individuals wanting to become parents
4. People who can’t safely carry a pregnancy

Each state or country has different laws about surrogacy, so working with a reputable surrogacy agency and legal third party reproductive attorney is important. 🧡

Hey! Let’s start from the beginning 😉

What is SURROGACY?

Surrogacy is a method of assisted reproduction where a woman, known as a surrogate, carries and gives birth to a baby for another person or couple, known as the intended parent(s).

There are two main types:

Gestational Surrogacy:
The surrogate is not genetically related to the baby.
An embryo created using the egg and s***m of the intended parent(s) or donors is implanted in the surrogate’s uterus through IVF (in vitro fertilization).
This is the most common and legally recognized form of surrogacy today.

Traditional Surrogacy:
The surrogate’s own egg is used, so she is genetically related to the child.
Fertilization is usually done via IUI (intrauterine insemination).
This method is less common due to legal and emotional complexities.
