Finding an open parking space may be challenging, but accessible parking spaces are only for those with valid disability permits. Businesses and nonprofits must also keep these spaces and paths clear, as required by the ADA.

The Hawaii State Department of Health has identified a new travel-related case of dengue virus on Oʻahu, bringing the total number of dengue cases to 14 in the state in 2025 (one on Maui, 13 on Oʻahu). The affected individual in this current case was exposed to the virus while traveling in a region where dengue is common and is not connected to prior cases.

Trace levels of selenium have been detected for the first time in water samples collected from the County of Maui Department of Water Supply’s Lahaina water system (Public Water System HI0000214), which serves the Lahaina and Napili-Honokōwai areas on the island of Maui.

The detections of selenium are below the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Hawaiʻi Department of Health (DOH) Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) and are unlikely to pose a public health risk.
