Today we recognize World Autism Day (April 2nd) 💙

Here in Hawaiʻi, we carry the value of hoʻolaulima, working together, to uplift one another. Today is a reminder to lead with awareness, deepen our understanding, and create spaces where neurodiverse individuals feel genuinely included and supported.

Every individual brings their own strengths, perspectives, and way of experiencing the world. Our kuleana is to create spaces where they are seen, heard, and valued.

Let’s continue to lead with patience, education, and aloha, because acceptance isn’t just a moment, it’s a daily practice.

Spread aloha. Promote inclusion. Support neurodiversity.

At Emergent Learning, we believe meaningful support extends beyond sessions and into the community.

That is one of the reasons we are proud to support the Best Buddies Friendship Walk Oʻahu 2026.

Best Buddies is an incredible organization dedicated to inclusion, connection, and opportunity for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, inclusive living, and family support. These are values that deeply align with the work we do every day.

For our team, this walk is about more than attending an event. It is about showing up for a community we care deeply about, celebrating belonging, and standing alongside families, advocates, and supporters who are helping create a more inclusive world.

The event is also a shorter and fun way to come together, connect, and be part of something meaningful. We would truly love to see our Emergent community out there with us.
