Want to learn how to support our keiki who have experienced trauma? Come join us for our next Recovery and Resilience Summer Training Series, Evidence-Based Trauma Treatment for Children and Adolescents.
 
This training will focus on learning and implementing evidence-based methods and treatments for children and adolescents who have experienced acute or chronic trauma and are showing symptoms of PTSD. This training is targeted to support mental health professionals. This is a one-day training with Dr. Kelsey Fujinaka.

Dr. Kelsey Fujinaka is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who currently serves as the Director of Practicum Training at I Ola Lāhui. She is committed to continuing to increase access to behavioral health services in medically underserved areas. She has worked and trained in multiple rural, integrated clinics on O‘ahu and Moloka‘i including Nā Pu‘uwai Native Hawaiian Health Care System Clinic from 2017-2022. Dr. Fujinaka is also experienced in the delivery of trauma informed care and was previously Lead Psychologist at the S*x Abuse Treatment Center, Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women and Children. There, she provided long-term treatment to children, adolescents, adults, as well as secondary victims (family members) who experienced sexual abuse or sexual assault. She is passionate about her clinical work and has enjoyed being a part of the supervision and teaching of I Ola Lāhui trainees. 

We are pleased to offer 6 continuing education hours (CEs) for Evidence Based Trauma Treatments for Children and Adolescents with verified attendance for those attending in-person or via Zoom on the day of the training. 5 CEs will be offered for those who participate on-demand. There is no cost for CEs for participants providing services in support of Maui wildfires recovery and members of the Hawaii Psychological Association, the National Association for Social Work- Hawai’i, and the Hawaiian Islands Association for Marriage and Family Therapy

First up of I Ola Lāhui’s Recovery and Resilience Summer Training Series is Starting the Conversation About Substance Use: Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT Part 1) + Train the Trainer Pathway (SBIRT Part 2). 
 
In SBIRT Part 1, you will learn to initiate the conversation about substance use, offer information, do a brief intervention and refer them for care as needed for individuals at risk of substance use disorders. SBIRT Part 2 will teach you how to train others to use SBIRT in your setting. This is a two-part training held over two days with Dr. Aukahi Austin Seabury.
 
Dr. Aukahi Austin Seabury is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the Executive Director and co-founder of I Ola Lāhui. She is a member of Nā Limahana of Lonopūhā Native Hawaiian Health Consortium and sits on the State of Hawai‘i Department of Labor and Industrial Relations Health Workforce Advisory Board.   She provides training to behavioral health providers on the use of culturally-minded evidence-based practices.
 
We are pleased to offer 6.5 continuing education hours (CEs) for SBIRT Part 1 and 6.5 CEs for SBIRT Part 2 with verified attendance. There is no cost for CEs for participants providing services in support of Maui wildfires recovery and members of the Hawaii Psychological Association, the National Association for Social Work- Hawai’i, and the Hawaiian Islands Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Want to learn how to support our lāhui recover and be resilient in the midst of adversity? Please attend I Ola Lāhui’s FREE Recovery and Resilience Summer Training Series. We will be offering 6  seminars focused on supporting our community’s ability to respond to disaster using evidence-based, culturally minded interventions that build on the strength of our lāhui. These trainings are open to everyone, with priority given to those aiding in the recovery process in the communities affected by the Maui wildfires
 
Once registered, you will receive a follow-up email with specific information pertaining to the training(s) you registered for. Registration for more than one training is highly encouraged. 
 
This training is co-sponsored by the Hawai'i Psychological Association. We are pleased to offer continuing education credits (CEs) for verified attendance. There is no cost for CEs for participants providing services in support of Maui wildfires recovery and members of the Hawaii Psychological Association, the National Association for Social Work- Hawai'i, and the Hawaiian Islands Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. 
 
Trainings will be offered online via Zoom or in-person at the University of Hawaii Maui College. If you are not able to attend the day of the trainings, the training recordings will be available on-demand to those who registered two weeks after the live event.
