Embrace Life
Years ago, I went to my doctor and told her I was having brain fog and my mother died of Dementia. She said her mother died of Dementia too. Then she asked me what my end-of-life plan is. I told her I would kill myself before I would put my kids through what I went through with my mom. Fast forward, Thanks to everything I have learned at Functional Health through Apollo Health, my brain works again. I am no longer dying. I am living.
I embraced some changes including eating 9 cups of veggies a day. How do we do that? Start your day with veggies.
• Drink dark green veggies in smoothies. Add avocado for healthy fat.
• Sauté veggies for breakfast like mushrooms, onions, celery, bell peppers, green leafy vegetables, arugula, kohlrabi, red cabbage. Be creative add a little brags aminos and apple cider vinegar, add spices like chili flakes, garlic, ginger, or salt and pepper.
• Make a big salad every night with color. Eat a salad as big as a dinner plate. Start with 2 cups and build up to 4 or 5.
In retrospect, I sure wish she had known about Apollohealthco.com. After reading the book The Survivors of Alzheimer’s Disease by Dale Bredesen, I gained hope that I could be a survivor too. Now I eat for brain health. I am embracing life. This is what I am now teaching and coaching others to do too. Please know there is help there for you. Dementia which is the 10th largest killer in the United States can be reversed if you start early enough and are willing to make the changes necessary to obtain optimal health.
